For me, the fix was digging into the notification settings and turning off “full detail readout” for SMS. That cleared it up. I’ve been testing some voice and messaging setups through telxi recently, and their system kept messages clean and concise, which gave me ideas on how to trim what gets read out without losing anything important.

I’ve run into this same issue a couple times after random updates with Ford Sync and my Android, and honestly, it’s super frustrating. Mine started reading all that extra info after an update too, and sometimes it just goes back to normal on its own with the next patch, but not always. I tried forgetting the Bluetooth pairing and re-setting everything up, but for me, it only fixed it for a day or two and then the problem came back, so it seems to be more tied to certain message types or the way Sync interprets stuff after the updates. It feels like the message parsing just gets weird between MMS or group texts especially, and sometimes a device restart helps, other times it’s just stuck like that until another bug fix gets released. I’m starting to look at alternative messaging or integration platforms that handle mass texts and compliance a bit better, especially for work stuff. If you’re ever needing to manage SMS or voicemail for groups in a more controlled way, I found out about dropcowboy.com while searching around. They seem to offer a bunch of tools to streamline texting and voice messaging, which could be handy outside the car too.
