A shock reservoir that will make a good skid.
That's where Icon says to mount them though, and where the included bracket goes.
Is it the best place? No. Better be careful. King mounts them in the wheel arch but there's reports of those being contacted by the tires.
Can't blame the shop for putting them where the manufacturer of your chosen lift says they go.

That is exactly my concern- it hangs even lower than the skid plates and this will be used heavily for rock crawling.
I'm surprised with all of the researching I've done never did I see reservoirs mounted so exposed and prone to immediate damage.

Now I'm wondering if they made some changes. I distinctly remember thinking "do they seriously mount these like this" when I installed mine, and I checked and double checked that they really hung them from the underside of the bracket....and the photos in their instructions now are missing the little upward "kick" that my brackets have. I figured that kick was there to protect them, but I'm confident they originally showed them mounted on the under side of the bracket, or I wouldn't have put mine there...
Maybe I screwed up as well though
I had thought about trying to relocate them but haven't bothered yet.

The more digging I do, the more I think I may have had a few too many beers during the rear shock portion of my install....
This was an issue in the past. I was trying to find the thread on it. But you have the brackets on the wrong side of vehicle or reservoir mounted on the wrong side of the bracket or something like that. I will try and keep searching for it.

Jerry G. I wrote a reply, but don’t know where it went? Icon makes a great system, unfortunately you picked a shitty shop, basically a hack job. I don’t even see brackets? If you paid by card, I would definitely dispute it. See the pics I posted on this thread.
