Meh, child's play. My personal record is 1069 miles non-stop doing Tulsa, OK back to Mesa, AZ in a 4runner. That was a LONG day, but also drove through two time zones to help for a 26 hour day ;).

It all depends on your threshold for distance driving in one shot :).
We do Gilbert to Madison in two 13 hour days. Liberal KS is halfway for us. Typically head out to CO and UT to play, then down to AZ for family and then head back to home. My father drove from San Antonio TX to Sandusky OH several times a summer for 10 years up until he turned 92. It was taking him 4 days in the later years but driving seems to be in the genes.

One thing that I have found is that once you are over about 1500 to 1600 miles, things do get quite a bit more painful. I've gone across the country 5 times total since 2009. That 3rd and/or 4th long day straight in the car starts to get a bit old. Last time we round tripped it we made it about a 10 day road trip each way and packed in a lot of tourist stops at various places we were interested in checking out.

You need the luxury of time for that though (luckily I had long paid leaves to utilize).

The worse part for me is mid afternoon and no traffic! This was before lane centering and the rumble strips on the right were better than a horn on the left. Going from San Antonio to Madison, I would hit KC around 1:00 pm and the next big city was Des Moines. That stretch was brutal for me. I prefer traffic on long drives to keep the adrenaline running.

You guys doing the long straight thru drives are younger. I’m old. Used to drive 1,100 miles straight through Florida to Pa routinely. 800 miles a day on a cross country trip was normal. Simply can’t do that anymore. 550 - 600 a day is about it. Perhaps less.

We took a week left Saturday morning and drove through from SATX area 700 miles to Albuquerque then Sunday had an easy 360 mile drive into Moab. Played there until Friday, left Saturday morning and drove to Las Cruces, NM trying to avoid a winter storm, then the last push home rolled in at 8:00 pm. that was pulling a 26' travel trailer and the wife following behind in the Bronco. So we had to make frequent stops for fuel and let the dogs out to run around.

Hi I agree, you will want your Bronco in Moab! As for places to eat, I recommend Antica Forma restaurant, pizza, and Italian food and for Mexican food El Tapatio both highly recommended! We love Moab!
