To be honest, didn't really consider anything else for the girlfriend until yesterday...

Configured a 2 door Defender to as close to the price and capabilities of the WildTrak. Ended up about $8k ($66k) more expensive, but with less motor than the Bronco.

Just kicking around ideas.

Thursday -reality, completed COVP ‘23 order best estimate 6-8 months based on dealer list.

Friday- not wasting more time not off-roading, and 17 y/o ‘05 Tacoma is tired. Solution- ‘traded taco for a good price and got this ‘17 JKU rubicon recon. I still want my Bronco but this will tide me over and it has Sasquatch!

Have always wanted to be able to hit the trails, beach, areas uncharted but never had a vehicle that could take me and my family.
Decided 1.5 years ago that it was time. After researching, landed on the new Bronco. Was super excited!
15 months later, I'm starting to really look at Jeep as a option.
Interest rates have and are continuing to go up, trade in value are slowly starting to drop and I have already missed a full year of potential outdoor fun.
With no clear understanding of when I could get my Bronco I'm being pulled more and more into looking at options Jeep offers.
Several key things on the Bronco would be missed but some are closely offset by what Jeep offers.
I hate being in this situation :(

Anyone else coming up with or already have a plan "B" with a set time line?

What is your plan B?
The Jeep is very specific use vehicle and daily driver is not it!

For someone with your needs it sounds like a Subaru would be a better 2nd choice.

I owned a Jeep Wrangler, Toyota FJ40, several trucks and two Subaru’s, I’d choose a Subaru of all of them.

That's me for now... Just looking at a plan B.
Sad because the Bronco is indeed the perfect choice.

Hadn't even looked at Subaru. Will take a peak at them. Thank you!

So, from your experience with it. What would you say about it if it was also your daily driver?
That's my biggest worry with a Jeep.
Not to worry. IMO you have to understand what the vehicle is first. When your expectations are in order, it’s all good. If you drive 10 minutes to work, it would be great. If you drive 30 minutes, maybe it won’t be great. It’s not a Honda Accord…you already know that. But you can throw the top back and it’s a convertible in 30 seconds. And you can turn down that trail if you want to.

I wouldn’t daily my Jeep very far with 35” mud terrain tires, lift etc. But the prior owner did. Other people I know do, and they take the doors and top off to enjoy their drives to work. This is about fun, not over analyzing ride quality. This has already been answered...IFS vehicles go down the road better. Jeeps are better off road. Just add some joy to your day.

If you could get your hands on a nice clean Jeep, new or used, get one. Keep it stock if you have a longer daily commute, go wheeling, throw the top back, take the doors off, enjoy it to and from work. Either vehicle is about fun.

I can definitely understand how you feel. I had a day 1 reservation that just got delivered last month. In January '21, I was really tired of waiting so I bought a used '19 JLUR to tide me over. At the time, I expected we'd own it 6 months, but it turned into a year and a half and 18K miles. We didn't like it as much as our Bronco, but we still experienced a lot of great adventures in it and have fond memories of our time with it. As a bonus, I made ~$5K profit when I sold it!

Waiting for the Bronco was excruciatingly long, and there were times when I wondered if Ford would ever build it for me. Hang in there - the wait was worth it!

Thanks, needed to hear this :)
Don't think the used car market will grow if I were to purchase one now. But who knows what will happen over the next 6 months lol

Nothing wrong with a Jeep if you can’t wait any longer.

Only Subie besides the WRX available with a stick shift is the Cross Trek. Sat in one. My head touched the roof! I'm only 5'10"
Wow, def to small. Need something large enough for the three of us and our dog :)
4Runner may be something that could work but doesn't seem to touch what the Bronco offers...
I've got 6 months. Hopefully by then I won't have to worry about other options! Fingers crossed...

Yep, I agree with this. Two people I work with both bought Jeeps about 8-12 months after ordering a Bronco.

Both are keeping their Jeeps. One did a short test drive and loved the Bronco but decided the Jeep was more his style.

The other person bought and flipped the Bronco. Still has the Jeep. She wants a Bronco Raptor when they are available to buy.

I need to go test drive one!
Test drive one. The new JL is actually pretty good. If you get the 2.0 with the etorque it takes away that dreaded 1 to 2 second lag at startup on the Bronco. Drive it with the all terrain TAs. You will love it. I added some mud terrains and it def changes how the vehicle drives and feels, which might be why you get the harsher reviews, but I think you will be pleasantly surprised with a stock rubi.
If it is going to be a daily, and like to hit the mall, then the Bronco is the way to go, but if you plan on taking it offroad jeep all the way. Between computer issues leaving people stranded on trails, the I blew up my 2.7 engine thread, the guy that busted a tie rod going from concrete to grass, or just axle busting fun these guys are having, you'll feel better about driving a jeep offroad especially if you are by yourself in "areas uncharted".
