Searched and couldn't find anything on the subject...

What is to prevent some thief from stealing the spare tire off of my Bronco with a few simple tools?

Maybe you Jeep owners already know this, but it's not obvious to me.

Put a wheel lock on it if you're concerned.

just get some of those lock nuts, I don't think it's a big issue. Somebody really wants one of your wheels they can take any of the other 4 pretty quickly too.
Spare on my Tacoma hangs somewhere under the truck bed, anyone could take that off easily too, don't think that's really a 'thing'. And that one doesn't even have the fancy lock nuts I have on the other 4, it just hangs down there somehow.

If someone is going to take your spare... they are taking the other 4 to. 🤦🏽

Didn't find much on it, because it's an answer looking for a question. Meaning, it isn't an issue, so don't worry about finding an answer.

I'd just weld all the lug nuts on, on all five wheels. You won't keep the vehicle long enough to go through a set of tires, so it'll be someone else's problem at that point anyway. Weld the doors closed too, like the Dukes of Hazard-style. Keeps people from getting into the vehicle, at least through the doors.
