Since this thread was resurrected I'll add my $.02...

Just one man's experience... In all my years of wheeling, I have never used my spare, but I have dragged it off steep drop offs which could be destructive on a 6G. I've only had to patch one tire in that time. That is after 25 years of the hardest trails that me and my buddies could get to in Moab, NM, CO, and other parts of the country. I have beadlocks on my EB and air down to 10lbs.

Does it look better with the spare? Yes, but to me, the delete doesn't look goofy either. My opinion, probably worth less than $.02...

I bought the kit and installed only to find out that I have a five-pin rear camera connector which apparantly is a lot larger. I called Turn Offroad and they said that they were working on a new prototype for the correct fit. Well that was a month ago and as of now there is no progress. I was told that I could modify the harness connector to allow clearance. I modified the connector and put the tire delete back on but I still had a half inch gap all around the delete bracket. So I odered Eight 1/2 x 3/8 x 1/2 thick rubber spacers that I attached with the eight bolts around the spare tire delete. I hope this helps anyone that wants to go through the PITA.

Hi there,
I am curious as to what year your Bronco is, as I have just purchased this delete kit and your post has me concerned that I may also have this issue.

I know this is thinking outside the box, but doesn’t it make just as much sense to simply pull off the spare on those days you’re “Extreme” rock crawling?
I think for almost everyone that's the correct answer. I don't use the Bronco often except for crawling and offroad, so I'd rather just leave it off.

I am with you. In all my time, I have had just a handful of instances with tires and they have never been in a wheeling situation.

One time maybe 4 years ago, I found a leak from the valve stem and losing all air in maybe 30 mins. I would air up every 20 minutes or so but with a ARB dual pump, this would be a 3 min pause and we were back on the road until we got home and parked until a new tire arrived - no spare needed

A month ago, same thing. Found a nail in a tire but it would hold for a few days. Maintained tire pressure until new tires arrived since the puncture tires were worn out anyway - No spare needed

Only one time did I find myself using the spare and that was because someone decided to ram their new cadillac on the bed of my truck and my rear tire ripped off their front bumper and punctured the sidewall in the process - this is the only time a spare has ever been used.

While that is true, there will be times that just pugging a tire isn't going to cover it. If you do a lot of remote trails, I would recommend keeping the spare. It's always that razor rock or tree root you didn't see or account for that takes the sidewall into the realm of un-patchable.
YMMV 🤠
I knew those trees were trying to trip me!

I saw a grey bronco with Georgia plates Saturday a Bass Pro it had the rear tire delete and I thought it looked good. I pull a trailer much of the time and the spare gets in the way of the trailer ball,, I have to remove the spare which looks ugly . This may work for me
