This is exactly what I do as well as someone had previously posted about the issue. A quick thing to look for is that in the half back position, the canvas should be creating an S shape
Yes! The “S” shape is the perfect way to explain how it should look.

Exactly and it shouldn’t require manually readjusting the top to make the S shape. T
yeah I showed it to my father in law who’s a Honda dealer owner and he said absolutely warranty it doesn’t matter how small it is right now. Once I have taken in the car I’ll update this thread
The irony is that my 1966 Ford Galaxie convertible top worked perfectly with no binding or manual adjustments required. So, you’d think they could get it right 55 years later.

Yaa, that would be nice, but a nice visual check is always reassuring. Literally 10 seconds. I live in the aviation world, checking is second nature to me lol there are bigger worries for me right now, like cleaning out the dust bowl that is the inside of my car after last weekends ride. Or, the paint starting to slightly chip at the very bottom back corner of the rear driver door.(factory fitment issue)

I hear you, however I never even thought that this would be an issue. Didn’t have an issue like this on my Galaxie. Didn’t have an issue like this on my 64 MGB, so I never thought to check whether to top folded properly until I saw the tear. I definitely do a walk around before driving, but flipping to top back is something that I might decide to do at a stoplight or right before I head home from work. It just doesn’t seem like a problem that should exist on a $50k vehicle. And, yes, I too have bigger issues I’m having checked out at the same time - whining noise from left front, extremely loud/rough at start when it’s 80+ degrees, a loose electrical component on the fan shroud, and a coolant leak smell/low coolant level after 3800 miles.

You might’ve already mentioned this, but did you try to get it warrantied since it ripped so soon? I saw a company is making an aftermarket kit that puts your top down with the push of a button. That could be your solution for wanting to put it back quickly while at a stoplight or heading out from work. I have also noticed the more I put the top down, the more it retains the s-shape so I don’t have to readjust it every time, I know that doesn’t help your current situation. Hope you can figure out those other gremlins and get it dialed in.

I’m taking it to the dealer I bought it from tonight to get the warranty process started. I’m assuming the best and that Ford will take care of it and wanted to underarms if it is an issue others are having too. Knowing that it’s not just me having the issue tells me there is some sort of design/adjustment issue that should be covered, versus me just being an idiot. I’ve seen the automated top too, but would rather not spend additional money on top of what I’ve already spent. Also, those tops seem to only be able to be fully up or fully down. I really like the Bronco and the options I have to flip the top back, all the way down, windows out, and even take it off, but I don’t like how it rubs/tears without manually adjusting it when flipping the top back.

Any update on this? I have an appointment scheduled for next Thursday for mine to be addressed

The dealer looked at it, took photos, and reached out to Ford. My dealer said it should be covered by warranty and are taking that approach. I’ve not heard back officially but will be calling to check in today

Personally I don't think so. Once readjusting it doesn't make contact with anything. I'm planning on getting a hardtop eventually so it doesn't bother me enough to go into the dealer for any sort of remedy
Can you post a picture of what the readjustment looks like? I have read about an S shape but am more visual so a picture would help.

I need to call my dealer and see the status on the replacement top. Ford approved a new top under warranty but the dealer told me it was on back order “for at least a month.” I’ve been on vacation most of the summer so haven’t made the time to connect with the dealer.

I think my soft top is experiencing the same issue, not 100% sure though. Noticed it this afternoon when I was cleaning the vehicle.

So first photo is how it goes down which caused the tearing I think. Second photo is what I moved it to. Which I think is correct.
This on the drivers side. Passenger side is fine.

Mine has had the same issue. Small tear on the drivers side that I noticed after a week "only the drivers side". I started pulling it back to the "s-position" with no issue, but I do have a small tear on the soft top now..... Was this resolved under warranty??
