Soft top tearing

Has anyone else experienced this issue yet? Luckily it’s small, but not sure what to even do about it? Going to take it in to the dealer and see what they say about it. Looks like it’s happening right at the bend when the soft top goes back

I have the same on the driver's side. Happened from having the top fully down over a period of a week. I'm not sure if @Ford Motor Company will warranty, but certainly is worth a try.

This is NOT something I've experienced owning a plethora of Wranglers...

I think my soft top is experiencing the same issue, not 100% sure though. Noticed it this afternoon when I was cleaning the vehicle.

Yes this is 100% the same issue, take it in and make sure they submit the claim with ford with photos or else it will be denied. They need to show it hitting that plastic piece on the passenger side

Mine has had the same issue. Small tear on the drivers side that I noticed after a week "only the drivers side". I started pulling it back to the "s-position" with no issue, but I do have a small tear on the soft top now..... Was this resolved under warranty??

They ordered my parts a few months ago and they finally called me to schedule an appt, ford didn’t fight it at all sounds like they know this is an issue. Problem is, I’ve heard from individuals who got a new soft top and the EXACT same thing happening to the new top. Without taking off that sharp plastic piece on the passenger side, there’s zero change “adjusting” the soft top won’t stop it from hitting it when the window is howling on the Highway

I alway check to see that the top has folded without any part of it being pinched. Seems to me that this is just a natural part of having a soft top. No way can canvas be engineered to fold a certain way. Responsibility of the person dropping the top to ensure it’s done in a manner to avoid any issues.

I think this happens because you may be just flipping the top back and not tucking it in like I do. Also takes the forehead slap away from back seat passengers.

Mine was replaced under warranty a few weeks ago. The new top still hit the plastic part, so I had the dealer take those off. Just there to protect your fingers and, apparently, to tear your top when folded back.

Not the frame, but all the cloth minus the windows.

Yes. I did end up removing those plastic finger protectors from the frame as I could tell they might still act like plastic knives when I folded the top back.
