I feel like the odds of having 3 bad alternators in a row are extremely slim. It's not like the ones you received were manufactured one right after another.

Maybe the problem is with your dealer and their techs ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.

I'm willing to bet the data suggests the exact opposite of this but we just hear about the failures more not because of forums, youtube gotcha videos, etc.
Well I'm in part also talking about personal experiences. I've purchased a lot of things since COVID and both quality and quantity has gone down.

The only thing that has gone up is price.

Ford get your shit together and hold these asshats you hired accountable.

Rant over.
Rant starts; Yeah and Ford, while you're at it; WTF is the deal with getting OEM roof racks built in The Good Old USA, not Guang-fucking-zhou?!?
Ya'll over-degree'd injuneers (yeah, I are one too) can't find a company in the USA to furnish powder coated aluminum rails?!? WTF?!?
I ordered the $365 roof rack for my 21 Badlands order...stealership says best delete that option (and tow...WTF?!?) when the order rolled over to a 22, since Ford can't get roof racks...WTF?!?
Salesman says "you can just buy it from us"...yeah...FOR $900!!!
Oh! And I found an OEM roof rack from a Ford dealer online!!! $649!!! $194 discount!!!
Butt Weight!!! Shipping is $200?!?!?!?!?!
WTF Ford?!?!?
Rant subsiding...for awhile...

Bail on the dealer. Take the alternator to an automotive electrical shop and have it repaired.
OP, take this advice. Nobody believes that the same shop would get 2 or 3 bad alternators to replace the one you were having issues with. If they've replaced the alternator and it didn't fix the issue then that's not the fix. It's like cutting a board to short and measuring and cutting it again.
Electrical issues are hard. That's why the parts stores won't accept returns on electrical parts. Some people will swap parts until the issue goes away and by doing that it might never go away. Maybe it's lemon law and Jeep time.

I would put your money towards a better American made aftermarket rack. Or look for a takeoff rack sold on the forums. Just my 2 cents.

And per my note above: by American mean US and Canada. I love buying tools from Lee Valley!

No reason truly that "American" should not include all 3 NA manufacturing countries.

But that aside, for probably less than $200 you can get a single wire alternator from a reputable company in Kentucky. Usually better than new. With only one wire going to battery you can start eliminating other electrical issues causing alternator failure.

Like others here I am finding it hard to believe that 2 oem shipped alternators are non working out of the box. If this were backnin the days of generators I would venture that tge techs forgot to flash the fields to polarize them

You know, it's not a matter of being able to make something in the USA, it's a matter of price.

I argue with my wife all the time who believes people should be able to raise families and buy houses on McDonald's job and I keep telling her I don't want a $20 Big Mac.

How many people strictly buy local from mom and pop shops instead of shopping around and getting better deals either online or from the big chains?

I was told there was a big batch of alts that were missing parts, spacers is what I was told. I have contacted Ford and they’re trying to figure it out. I don’t understand why Ford won’t let me go get an alt and have the dealer install it and reimburse me for it. I’ve done it that way last May with a water pump on a grand Cherokee. I don’t understand how an alt can be $500-700 on the web?

while it was there they replaced the front drive shaft, battery and driver window relay. The thing I was sweating was the driveshaft as they said there wasn’t an eta.

I still am wondering just how the dealer determined the two replacements were faulty. Did they stick them on a growler (it is an alternator testing device, not a container for libations) before or after installing? Same with the original factory installed so-called failed unit, did they perform the test that NAPA or Advanced Auto can do for free. Without knowing all the steps performed by the shop determining what exactly was wrong with the replacements is just a wild guess. But here is one more.....

....they arrived physically damaged - which unless they were delivered by DHL (an actual foreign (German or Dutch) delivery company then they were final leg shipped to dealer by an AMERICAN company. If so then blame the shipper, not the manufacturer

What shitty Michigan company is producing these crap ass alternators?

my 2.3 has been in the shop for almost a month now for several warranty issues. The one that’s been keeping me from getting it back from the dealer for 3 wks is waiting for the fourth alternator to show up. Makes me feel real confident when they find “the good one”. Why isn’t there any checks and balances going on? Did they QC any of them? Ford get your shit together and hold these asshats you hired accountable. Not to mention the faulty window mech, front driveshaft and bad battery. I ditched jeep because of many issues over the years, now you’re going to be added to the list.

who else has had the charging system blues?

Rant over.
If they've gone through that many alternators maybe the alternator isn't the issue.
