Shaking?

I’m curious, how well does your Bronco cruise on the highway? Any shaking / vibrations in the front? Mine, with 300 miles and new K03’s (285/65/18) on OBX rims, shakes so bad at 70mph that my voice sounds like I am talking through a table fan (you know…”Luke, I am your father”) dealer has balanced twice and seems to believe it’s normal, but I’ve been around the horn a few times in my life, this being my 18th vehicle and find it impossible to believe that (a) any car maker would accept this as a final result, and (b) any tire manufacturer would produce anything that made the vehicle shake so badly. BUT this is my first Bronco and first Ford in general, so have to ask the experts - you guys!!

Something is wrong, mine cruises like a Cadillac at 85mph.

Never heard this mentioned by anybody here either unless it was a tire balance issue.

Mine cruises fine at all speeds too, and I have heavier tires now. Drives great!

Might want to get it checked out by a different dealership. Maybe an alignment issue?

Mines is smooth like butta all the way up to 100.. Gotta be a tire balance issue or a wheel isnt seated all the way

Alignments dont typically cause that unless its way off and it would take a major impact to do that. 90% guarantee its tire related

Definitely not normal. That said, my Wildtrak does bounce a bit on rough pavement. Steps sideways just a bit on larger bumps. It's no Cadillac, but it does ride nicely (for a taller truck) without any undue vibrations.

I'd say you have a tire issue or a balance issue or both. I think BFGs are kind of notorious for balance problems. Could also be a damaged or defective wheel, I suppose. I once had a defective wheel that had to be replaced on a different vehicle.

Did you drive it prior to the KO3's or were they on it when you bought it? If they were on it when you bought it, see if the dealer would take an OEM set of tires wheels off a stock OBX and compare between the 2 sets...thats the only way to eliminate whats causing it.

I've always heard K02's were hard to balance. I've got them on my truck and have a lot of weights on them.

I would take it elsewhere and get a rebalance. Without being able to put the same tires on to prove it's the tires, you really just need a second opinion, if you will. I don't know this for sure, but I suspect balancing a tire is some art more than science? At least some people seem to be better at it than others.

Find a different store for tire balance.
I bought my KO2 from Discount Tire. I have tried 3 different DT stores for tire balancing before it is smooth. And don't just get there in the rush hour so they have more time to 'fine' tune the weight.

Are they just balancing them or are they road-forcing them? I personally have never been able to keep a KO-anything balanced on anything I have owned (super duty's) so I stay away from them. If they are just balancing them and not performing a road force that's a tough call but my 37's cruise at 75-80 no problem (Nitto's).

WTH is a road force...

Have you ever seen that big roller attached to a tire balancer, when used that mimics the force of the tire on the road. When you just balance a tire you are just spinning it and putting the weights to counter the imbalance of the tire to balance it. When you do a road- force it mimics/measures the runout of the wheel and tire assembly on the roller. When out of road-force you break down the tire, rotate it 90* on the wheel and re-do it again, basically a more true balance if that makes sense?

Sometimes a tire can balance but fail road-force making the tire shake. We see customers all the time come in complaining of a tire shake after a balance somewhere and we road force it to correct it. Most of the time it works great, sometimes the tire fails and it is too far out to properly balance.
