Shadow Black painted hard top?

Does anyone have one or have you seen one? I was thinking about getting a Bronco again and looking at all the trims in the build tool and saw that a “Shadow Black painted hardtop” is a $2500 option on most of the trims. I also notice that it is NOT called “modular hardtop” like the white one on the HE and HEL trims. I just got back from a dealership and of course they didn’t know anything. I blew the salesman’s mind when I pointed out the gunner hatch in the 2dr HEL I was sitting in. It also looked like the windows would be removable with a special tool (star shaped bit) - are they? Are the black painted tops modular hardtops with removable windows and hatch on 2dr? Thanks!

On the two doors, I think the Herratige, the windows are removable, and the top is not considered a MIC top.

As for the Shadow Black top, I think that may be the new top that comes with the Black Package for the Raptor. I think there was a thread on the forums about a bit ago.

Nobody has one yet.
Yes the rear windows are removable on the mod tops.

From what I remember reading is the black top is available on the 4 doors only and the body color on raptors only. Also from what I remember is that the rear windows should be removable like they are on the HEs. There's a few pics out there and they're a bit different looking on the inside from the HE modular tops.

It doesn’t mention it, but I would assume so.
I can’t see Ford making 2 completely different painted tops.
So I believe the black painted top will be identical to the heritage white mod top

I ask the question because in the build and price, The white top on the HE and HEL is called "Modular Hard Top, Oxford White Painted" and the optional black ones are called "Hard Top, Shadow Black Painted".
It makes me think maybe the black ones aren't the modular tops and maybe just painted MIC tops.

Well considering they both have the removable “gunner” hatch for the 2 door, it’s likely they’re both the same modular top.

Well considering they both have the removable “gunner” hatch for the 2 door, it’s likely they’re both the same modular top.

Did the Shadow Black availability change to include the 2 door? I'd have to dig for the thread but wasn't it only for certain 4 door trims and Raptor with the later getting a body colored option as well, which is what B&P shows. What you posted includes both the black and white descriptions with the gunners hatch belonging only to the white HE 2 door, unless it's available to all.

Going off memory as well along with the reposted video that shows a more finished product with the SB than our OW tops and I thought there was mention of it being a different manufacturer. But to the OP, @bodie_38 it's not a painted MIC top, it should at least be the same or better than what I have on my HE.

I’m not sure. I’ve never seen it stated anywhere that 2 door shadow black wasn’t available.
You’re right that build and price doesn’t show it, but there’s always so many mistakes in there I usually disregard it.

Don't know either and I'm no longer in the market to buy but like to stay up to date with what's out there. I never could find a J2 Order Guide to confirm anything, just B&P.

The video by Chase does show that they will be modular. Painted Hard Top is a job 2 option that starts production this month.
