I believe its standard on Black Diamond and Badlands.

The others are cloth and those like Outer Banks can have leather/carpet.

I'm not sure if Ford will option it for all trims?
well that would be unfortunate. WHy wouldnt it be standard in a vehicle made to take doors off and drive through sand? (rhetorical question)

Dude, yeah, we're all living through this pre-B&P nightmare too.

;)

I mentioned in another thread that I've got a sheet where I've reached my preferred build two different ways starting from different models. Until I can sit down and work B&P through, I wont be able to truly weigh the options.

Initially I thought I wanted the Outer Banks because of the focus on the creature comforts - but the more I look at it, the more I'm not a fan of the body colored flares, door handles, wheels and tires... so I was thinking about exploring other options and maybe even saving some money by not spending money on something I don't want...
I realized that the Black Diamond has upgraded bash plates, rock rails, auxilliary switches, and other things that make it more appealing... BUT
Then I realize that the Black Diamond and Big Bend don't have the signature LED lighting, don't have the High level instrument panel, no remote start option, no intelligent access.... then I realize that the Black Diamond isn't even available with carpeted floors...
oh, AND - the High and Lux packages aren't even available on the Big Bend/Black Diamond models...
Ugh .. trying to go through the list of options of what's included/excluded/optional and figuring out what I want, and what I'm willing to live without - is kinda difficult!! Looks like I might be back to looking at the OBX, but then paying extra for things like a new set of unpainted flares and decent set of wheels/tires ...

am I the only one?
I had a very similar train of thought to you. My current plan, subject to change at any moment, is Wildtrak with high package. I think it will end up very close in price (if not less) to what I would have optioned out the Outer Banks to be.

I'd rather have carpeted floors that look nice - even if it means I need to vacuum them if they get sand on them.. versus an ugly rubber floor. it's like having your whole interior covered in those ugly weathertek floormats (unless someone gets in and out of their vehicle in a swamp, I don't understand why people use those) ..

Says the guy in Sacramento.

Oh man. That mix of winter slush, sand, salt, dirt, mud, and occasionally dog poop we get here in New England.
Weathertecs are in alllll of our vehicles.

off topic - where are you in MA? I used to live there until I was 16 (1986)... we lived in Marlboro, Hopkinton, Bellingham and Northboro ... used to go to the Cape every summer to stay with my cousin who lived in Hyannis ... I have some great memories from there ... while I don't miss the winters, I definitely do miss a lot of aspects of the East Coast!!

You are not alone. I go back and forth with BD and BL and even WT.
It reall ally depends on option pricing ..
B&P will eleviate all this. I’m trying to just enjoy the ride.
Bronc is my dream ride- some dream of corvettes, mustangs or Porsche- I dream of country backroads with my top off and drivin my Bronco
I’ve never ordered a new vehicle- so this is all new and a start of a new adventure with my dream rig.
Try to take a deep breath and enjoy the ride

Western MA. Pioneer Valley. Probably an hour west from your old stomping grounds.

I’ve travelled all over the country and I have yet to discover a place I love more than this region. (By every metric: Services, recreation, education, arts, culture, proximity to both more urban and more rural regions, etc etc etc)

Not my photo, but taken in my town:

Exactly, I could get by with one locker (al a carte or aftermarket), bigger tires and maybe wheels, that's $3K and Squatch is $5k with better suspension, resale and cool factor. I'm thinking if I skip the Squatch I'll regret it.

I am in exactly the same boat. I need B&P to figure it out. I don’t like the color matched flares or handles and I would prefer the 17” wheels. Mid package is ok and I think I am going aftermarket steps (something a bit smaller and more off road friendly. But I would like the adaptive cruise and B&O stereo.

I think the rubber washout floors come with carpeted mats . Sorta the reverse of the weathertech mats that I use in all my vehicles . If you stay on pavement and parking lots I could understand why people don't use them .

There's not allot to differentiate the trims, yes carpet, cloth, some paint, bash plates and SB disconnect and lights. That's pretty much it, you can get the 6 and Squatch on everything so it's going to take a keen eye for someone to know what you have.

Supposedly you lose the painted flares when you Squatch, or you could get a white OB and people will be fighting for your white flares! I'm still sticking with BL even though I'd like cloth and carpet and it'll never see any rocks outside of the driveway.

Just out of curiosity, no judgements....Why would you go BL if it is never gonna see rocks and you would like cloth and carpets? There are good options that have what you like even if they don't have what you don't need.

again, no judgements, just curious. For instance- the Wildtrack would fill most all of my needs, I just don't want the Squatch and I like the washout floor and vinyl.

U don’t live in the Midwest where 16 inches of snow and sleet and rain and mud ! So yes weather tech floor mats become needed, rubberized flooring for me as a mountain biker and trail runner are a must. I play in the dirt like a 4 year old with a tonka truck ina sandbox

No worries ... Out of all the grilles I like it the best, I was always good with the manual and the 2.3 but what fed the fever was the Bilsteins and the optional wheels. Really the Squatch pkg adds everything the BL has except the disconnect and now you can get it with manual 2.3 right?

So, why don't I get my cloth and carpet whatever with the Squatch? Don't know, still like the grille and optional wheels better, I'm good with a smaller tire which is still bigger than what I have on my FJ. I don't mind vinyl wash out floor either, I'm on the coast and sand is pain so probably doing myself a favor. Cloth is just a preference, it's hot and sunny here, vinyl gets warm quick but at least it won't crack and wear like leather.

If I Squatch an OB now with manual I'm adding 5k to it and it won't be anymore capable than a BL for the same cost and the WT doesn't come in a manual, shares a grille and will basically look like every other Squatched Bronco.

Alright, to finally finish up this lengthy soul dump is the off road and rock crawl aspect. Nope, the most it will do is some beach time and top down cruising on the way to work in an office. Not going to apologize for or hide that though, I'm sure I won't be the only one who's buying it for its looks vice it's capabilities but it's nice to know if I need or want to explore that side of it that it's there for the taking.
