Seafoam

With my last boat I had a 70 hp outboard that I ran seafoam though. It made a remarkable difference on how clean that ran with way less carbon buildup. My Bronco will not be a daily driver and was wondering if there is a reason why I would not want to add this to my Bronco?

Our Bronco will not be a daily driver either as it'll be a 'fun' vehicle for my wife. We have 2 other vehicles like that and use Star-Tron fuel additive in those. I also use it in the dirt bikes, SxS, lawn mower, snow blower... everything except the daily drivers.

It's cheap insurance.

I planned on using it on mine unless I hear different in this thread. I used it on my LS1 and never had a problem.

Edit: I think you are referring to adding it to the fuel? I never tried adding it to the gas or oil. I always used mine by adding through a vacuum line then flooding the engine.

Mine sat for months on dirt mountain and is fine.

If its sitting longer than that I question why you even own it.

If you need something do do and have some disposable income to waste, have at it.

Ran Sea Foam in Gas and Diesel engines from cars, trucks, generators and refueling tanks for over 20 years with nary a problem or concern. I like it better than any other additive on the market including Mystery Oil.

That Sea Foam is some real gourmet shit for your engines

I use it to make sure nothing gets gummed up from long times between use. Not much chance of that happening with a daily driver... at least in my experience.

If you need something do do and have some disposable income to waste, have at it.

While it does have stabilizer in it that's not the benefit most important to me. In two strokes it does a remarkable job at reducing carbon build up. It is not overly expensive but enough so that if you drove a lot it would begin to add up. That's why I mentioned non daily driver.

I haven't used it in a car and was looking for anyone that had real world experience doing so that would have a reason not to do it. The can says it's good for all motors but want to verify.

If your not using it with your 2 strokes you should. I mix straight into the fuel.

I am a Seafoam user. As a fuel additive, probably fine. However, do some research on using it to clean the top end through a vacuum line or throttle body. Especially the 2.3....I've read about a lot of catastrophic results from doing that on these engines.

Not a chance I would run it through an intake on a modern vehicle. The 2.7L is is both port and direct injected. The port injection takes care of the carbon build up associated with the direct injection.

Seafoam is not a fuel stabilizer and will do nothing to protect the fuel system from "sitting".
The one concern I would have for fuel additives is the sensor in the bronco fuel system that determines energy content. (octane) I would contact Seafoam directly to ensure their product is compatible with a vehicle that has such a sensor.

To Stabilize Fuel: Sea Foam works to stabilize stored fuel up to 2 years.
Directions: Add 1 ounce per gallon of fuel.

That's why I add it to my barely driven Tacoma.

Would not add it to the Bronco (2.7) as it's not sitting around long enough to worry about that.
