Route suggestions for Western Colorado

I am planning on taking my Wildtrak to Moab in August. After Moab, I would like to head towards Ouray and the Alpine Loop. I am looking for suggestions on off-road routes from Moab. I was thinking of taking the Rimrocker Trail. Where would be the best places to find a motel or hotel after Moab? I was thinking Telluride and then the next day, going over Imogene Pass to the million dollar highway and two nights in Ouray. Spend one day doing the Alpine Loop. Then up to see a friend in Grand Junction for a night. Any backroad suggestions for spending 3 days getting to Stanley Idaho from Grand Junction?

How long is the drive on Rimrock to these towns? I really couldn't find a place to stay at. What would be the offroad way from here to Ouray the next day

Imogene IMO is the best trail in Ouray, especially if you're not trying to do anything super intense. You should not miss Imogene. If you're taking rimrocker from moab and want to catch Imogene, then you're planned route is pretty good.

I would recommend subscribing to the trails offroad app for this trip.

You can take the red bailout to get to Telluride quicker or take the scenic highlighted route. The part that looks like there's no trail on the highlighted route is just a road.

Thank you. I have done Imogen twice. Once from Ouray and once from Telluride. I use the OnX app which works on the Bronco screen

OnX probably has these routes as well. My route basically has you taking rimrocker until you can cut south and then take last dollar road into telluride rather than the highway. Rimrocker is pretty boring from where I showed the cutoff into Montrose. Just a dirt road, however there is a skills park at the end. If you go to Montrose, grab a beer and a chicken sandwich at Pomona.

After looking at prices of hotels in Telluride, we will be spending the night in Montrose
