The OBX comes with these steps on them which are plastic.

There are metal L shaped arms attaching them to the frame.

My steps and the bars holding them up are getting a litttle banged up, likely in the only one that notices.

Wondering if anybody has put sliders on underneath the plastic steps to help protect them?

Don’t intend to do any crazy rock crawling, considering I don’t have lockers or sway bars, but will be hitting some harder trails.

You can get the OEM Trail Armor rock rails and mount steps to them. That would probably be all you ever need and can probably find them used for a good price. I had the IAG V2 single step on the 2dr and they were good. There's also a long one. They just clamp on.
