I live in Tampa FL though. I built this for more practical application in my area. Dirt roads but mostly flats to camp sites and a ton of highway driving. If I lived in a different part of the country I agree would basically be useless unless I upgraded the rear axle etc.
I don't think that it would be useless in other parts, the V6 has enough torque, if it was a 2.3, maybe.

Yeah and with the piggyback tuner I added Iā€™m currently set at about 45 more hp and 55 torque on top of the existing mods

But a little extra engine power doesn't fix gearing (AKA RPM at MPH). The auto trans is way out of its programmed range/ mechanical ratio and will behave strangely, not hit 10th frequently and gear hunt, increasing transmission temperature and wear, and just flat out be annoying to drive.

^ This approximately is you now.

The 40s are much, much, much harder to turn than the stock OBX wheels and tires. So losing 300+ RPM at highway is a big issue. If you go WOT to pass on the highway you will probably need 5th or 6th versus 8th. The gearing hunting is going to be terrible.

Yeah I agree that would be ideal. Oddly enough though I donā€™t notice any gear shift issues at speed and stepping on it. Itā€™s the funnest thing Iā€™ve ever driven. Much better than my 250 diesel

It rides like a caddy with the vertex coilovers set at 4. Doesnā€™t sound or feel like 40s at all compared to my trucks with 40s

Is there any mechanical interference between the front Vertex reservoirs and the upper control arms at full compression?

I have not had any issues but I also have never been fully flexed. There is approximately 3.5ā€ between UCA and first point of contact being the reservoir hose fitting. Based on the arc needed to make contact it would put my tire beyond its travel capacity anyway. But perhaps someone else has a better answer.

Yeah great shape and fit and actually functional with multiple mounting points (tow hook frame, bumper, and thru grill to body above radiator mounting) Middle grille can be removed for more camera view and they do offer sensor relocation brackets if you prefer to keep that function
What customization options are there for the Steelcraft bumper? Yours looks way better than what's listed on their website.

Looks awesome! I am very curious on how you were able to fit the KC lights bar and Trailrax roofrack as I am looking at the same setup. I thought I had to get the cutout version of the rack but it seems like you do not have the cut out in the roof rack. I know we need the Bronco attachments points for the roof rack so how did you then mount the light bar as well? Some close up pics would be helpful. Thanks!

No you donā€™t need the cutout. Just need to attach the brackets from Colorado canyon enthusiasts directly to where the side pieces of the rack screw to the front of the wind deflector. Itā€™s a perfect match

Great looking RIG and some nice mods. For us FL folk, we do not have rock crawling or any of the hardcore stuff. Even at Ol Florida there are some nice things, but nothing that you would need to worry about.

40's is a lot of tire, but hey I have seen them on lesser rigs. With all the work done, I would guess when the time comes, the work to make things more proper will be achieved.
