All of the above reasons are exactly why my money is staying in my pocket for now.
But, competition will eventually pick up as more vendors come online and start making parts. Examples already exist right here on B6G. Archetype came out with some sweet steps for the rock rails, but $500 a pair is too much IMO. Just recently IAG introduced their steps for $250 a pair! Give the market time to catch up!
People keep saying this, "$500 for the AR pair". First, only the extra cost machined top started at that price, and then there was ~100 off that. My pair was ~$420 after tax. Second, the solid black was less money, and also had a discount.

Unless the parts directly interchange with lesser models, there isn't that big of a market for Raptor Specific part. They still have to design/produce the part and won't ever sell anywhere near the quantity that they would for a regular F150.

I'm sure the manufacturer also takes into account that the person could afford to spend a lot of cheese on a toy so they probably have the money to spend on expensive parts.
I’m well aware of what all goes into it. I’m not saying the part pricing is unjustified, the majority of the stuff is super high quality either made to order or in small batches.

Still hurts the wallet though when you shell out $1500 for a tube bumper.

This is my test when I am pricing stuff. Go see what the JL equivalent costs are compared to the Bronco product from the same company. Its significantly higher every time. I totally get the development costs its going to add money, true fact. BUT when you go to these guys sites that are building bumpers and the JL bumpers are $700 give or take and the Bronco ones are $1800 or more, thats messed up. Good thing is, you don't have to by them. Just be patient and the price will come down. People that are saying "Its just what things cost, quit whining", go ahead and buy now.....a fool and his money and all that.
If I built 200 Jeep bumpers in 2019 that fits a 2018-2022 jl for 500, and sell them all for 700, do they cost more to make in 2022? Have materials gone up? Labor?
What about the labor to design and make the same bumper?

Do my employees have more income? More expenses? Do I?

im just trying to figure out how a 1966 convertible mustang was about $2759… but all the sudden I’m expected to pay 45000 for a 2022. If no one buys one, they have to sell them for 2759

I looked right before I posted and they are $494. So, to be fair IAG's are 279 before discount code! But, I still believe 420 is too much. 300 was/is my cutoff point when Archetype announced their steps before we knew a price! It all boils down to each person's perception of value vs. quality etc....Both steps are excellent products I might add!

AR got out front and started making very high quality products really early, can't blame them for charging a premium. As time goes on more and more products will be available which will be cheaper (and most likely won't be the same quality).

I've already seen a couple of steps which mount to the rock rails like the AR ones do but they are welded tube steps that are nowhere near the quality/looks of the AR but they are cheaper.

In my case, being that I will have a base I probably couldn't justify the price and would go with the cheaper ones but I can't fault anybody for having a piece of jewelry like the AR ones.

Naw what makes me mad is folks selling some doo-dad that's completely over rated or un-needed....and likely overpriced too. Then every one jumps in and buys the junk cause its the new have-to-have item. Kinda funny in some ways I guess.
You mean color matched shackles?

The B6g must-have, must-show item!

As a small business owner, my costs have gone up about 35% in the last 2 years and about 60% over the past decade.

My fees have gone up twice in the past decade, both were COLA's. Both resulted in dozens of salty customers complaining about their invoice.

I'm allowed to go bankrupt to ensure you have a bottom-price product, obviously without any gratitude from customers like yourself, but if I choose to hire people at a wage that allows them to live in this region and not be bankrupt then suddenly i'm being greedy. Love it!

FWIW, here's a suggestion that will blow your f-ing mind:
  • Buy a sewing machine ($200)
  • Learn to sew (free, because..... INTERNET!)
  • Materials to make your own seat covers: ~$600
  • SAVE SAVE SAVE!!!!! You just saved $200 and learned a life skill
And you cut out the middle man, which was hiring somebody who already invested in equipment and skilled labor to bring you a product. That's smrt.

This is so true. Raptor parts pricing is insane.
Raptor pricing is insane. Was pricing pickups for a buddy that was deciding between a 2022 Tundra TRD Pro or a 2022 Raptor. Since you cannot build and price a TRD PRO anywhere near Florida, I did it for him from Cali. The TRD PRO has no options available other than the free tow package at $68,500. The Raptor similarly equipped, $82,000. I love Ford and all but damn......

I think a lot is early adopter surcharge and non-mass-produced parts. It will be different when there are 500K Broncos on the road.
