Rigid relay harness to Upfitter - Switch Wiring Question

I’m working on installing a new bumper with a large 30” Rigid RDS light bar. It is not a backlit, the light is just a standard 2-wire. My question relates to the included relay harness:

The relay harness has three main wire sections: the red/black to the battery, the red/black to the light bar, and the red/blue/black to a switch.

And that last one is where I’m tripped up: The harness has a three-wire switch setup with spade connector ends. The wires are Red, Blue, Black. I’m intending to connect this to the factory equipped upfitter switches; like my old setup. The Rigid documentation isn’t clear so I’m hoping you all can help out:

On the switch-wiring end of this harness, do i need to ground the black wire? Do i need the red or the blue to connect to the upfitter switch?

The other ends of the harness are obvious: red and black to battery, red and black to light bar.

Blue is constant power to illuminate the light bar’s provided switch. Simply use the red to the appropriate Auxiliary wire based on the amp draw of the light bar and black to any grounding point. Once connected you will be all set and be able to control the light with the aux switch.

Ok, so red to upfitter, black to ground, blue unused.

Well. Some morning experiments came up different. Blue wire to upfitter and don’t do anything with red/black and the light bar illuminated. Red wire to upfitter and no light.

I’m making an assumption, may not be good, but that the blue wire sends signal to relay to open, and is grounded as a complete circuit through the relay’s ground at the battery. Not sure I need to ground the switch-end of the harness black wire. Seems like I can just dead-end those two and move on with life, no?

Never any issues with this wire setup? I’m doing the same .

So far so good. I would definitely promote the SPV plug play fuse and relay kits though for upfitters now that I’ve used one. I won’t use an included harness again — too much excess wire and this this blue wire thing - none of those headaches w SPV harness for upfitter setup. Just used one for my rear roof rack light bar.
