We will be using an unmodified (shape wise) stock hard top. The rear will remain vertical. The portion of the top between the roof and the door will take some creative redneck engineering. I'm the redneck with the idea, we will see if my paint and body guys can make it happen without smoke and mirrors. A small portion of the front of the rear window will be covered with paint.
If you know anyone good with fiberglass, you could have them make a mold with the stock piece, make a blank copy, and then make a window cutout similar to the desired look you're going for.

Or you could find one of these window deletes that were on the Overland Concept and just make a fake vinyl window to the shape you want. I can't remember if these ever hit the Accessories catalog or not.

We’ve all seen HodRods, RatRods, RestoMods, but…. ever seen mention of a RetroMod? This is what happens during a 20+ hour ride with your bride over a weekend. We have several amazing companies contributing to this to make it all happen. Lets see if they can turn our vision into a reality. A few have tried, I don’t think anyone has pulled this off yet to the degree we are shooting for.

RetroMod

/‘ret rō mäd/

adverb / noun The art of modifying a newer automobile that is imitative of a style, fashion, or design from the recent past with a modern flare: fashionably nostalgic or old-fashioned.

Lets RetroMod a new Bronco.

That’s a cool RetroMod.

This will be the build journal for my wife’s 2021 BadSquatch. We finally received this truck 2/2/22. We went straight from the dealer to our favorite trail system in the North Ga mountains. You couldn’t imagine the butt hurt we created on FB with an “aggressive creek crossing”. Hey, if we cant do Bronco stuff in our Bronco with our Bronco friends, we don’t want it.

She drove it for a few days before we sent it off to the folks at Glasslife Atlanta to work their magic. We found this inspiration photo long before we even ordered the Bronco. This is what we are trying to duplicate.

From this to this in just over an hour.

We are going all in and painting the panels. I’ve heard that “Wraps are for people with commitment issues”. Let’s hope we don’t have regret issues! LOL

While waiting on the body shop, we have installed King 2.5” Coil Overs w/Adjustable Compression. We also added Baja Kits Billet Upper A-Arms. This was followed by adding polished Method Wheels with General Grabber 35” tires. Sure, 37’s would fit but we will get more articulation from the 35’s. This will NOT be a pavement princess. We intended to use this truck the way Ford intended us to use it.

Here is a sneak peak of the body panels in the paint booth. This is Wimbledon White and Antimatter Blue.

I will do my best to keep this post updated with progress reports and pictures.

We are currently waiting on several parts. Hopefully we will have the Baja Kits Billet Rear Control Arms real soon. Plus we have several pieces coming from the guys at JCR Offroad. Future updates will include auxiliary lighting, winch install and a rear seat delete. Plus the painted surfaces will be covered in xPel Stealth Paint Protection Film and a ceramic coating.
Do you have the part numbers you used for the "King Shocks" ?? There only listing is for a 4 door Bronco. Was This a Sasquatch when you bought it?? it will make a difference on the shocks if not. Thanks in advance.......

Awesome idea. Can't wait to see the final product but won't stealth PPF mask AMB's beautiful flake? Someone on the forum did stealth on their AMB build and it just made it even darker and flakeless. Lot of people say AMB looks black anyway but I disagree. I did clear PPF on my AMB OBX. It looks great and everyone who comments on it can tell it's blue. I say go with clear Xpel. Just my two cents...

It‘s depressing how dreary modern factory automobiles look compared to those of yesteryear.

it is my understanding that there are only part numbers for the King Shocks, either with or without compression adjustment. Obviously the fronts and rears would have different part number, but the deciding factor would be the adjustability.

I was on the fence there. Since this is my wife’s Bronco, I let her make the final call. I have an Iconic Silver Mustang with the xPel stealth film on it and I love it. It really brings out the metallic and seems to accentuate the body lines.

Damn. The look of that top is perfect.

This is exactly what they should look like coming off the factory line.
Agreed... Was "really pumped" about this build until I read the top was going to remain vertical in the rear and just paint the window in the front... Big bummer.

If that's the case, I feel like there's already a build like this? Or pretty similar.

Slanted back (and as someone else pointed out, a but more stretch from the door to the wheel well) is what makes this stand out and more accurately match the render.

Oh well... 🤷‍♂️

Talked to King on the phone, and they had only made ones for the weight of the 4 door, but were working on the 2 door, so maybe they have them now. Just wondering if I could get the part numbers from you so I could check with them. Having more info is better than none...... The ones you show are what I would like to go with from the pictures. Thanks.
