So I've been scouting all ford dealers within a 2 hour radius of me for a bronco that interests me. Of course all the ones that were in stock that I actually liked had 10k + markup or were just out of my price range.
Anyway long story short I was talking to a dealer who offered to take an order for me. As I'm sure everyone here already knows, retail orders are on hold until end of March, however the dealer offered to order what I want as a stock order but wanted a deposit to reserve it for me once it arrives.
Anyone else go this route? How long did you have to wait for delivery? Did it pay off in the end?

It is definitely an option. I know one person who has gone this route personally, and I've seen several posts on this forum and on Bronco Nation from people who have received a vehicle that way.

There are two big downsides with stock orders:
  • They are automatically prioritized behind all retail orders.
  • They are not price protected by Ford. So if Ford does a mid-year price increase sometime this year, you will have to eat that price increase (unless you make a price agreement with your dealer to hold the price steady)
