Has anyone done the Redline Goods console cover on their own? My question is can you just pop the lid off with pry tools without removing the lid assembly from the console at the pins.

I’m debating removing the factory cover or just going over it. Any and all guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks, I have them printed and I have done interior work in the past. Was looking for a little “real world” experience if there was any out there.

Having been through the process myself- I wouldn’t really suggest attempting it without removing the lid assembly. It’s really not difficult to access the pin so removing it is quite trivial. However- trying to go about it without doing so would definitely just make the entire process much more challenging. Is there any particular reason why you’d need to go about it differently?

End of the day, no real reason other then seems easy enough to put the tools in and pop it off. Sounds like I am over estimating the effort and will pop the pins. Thought of adding a little extra padding/batting, but was not sure how secure it would be.

I took out the pin and brought it to an upholstery shop. I purchased the cover with the stitching to match the shift boot. I also purchased the foam from redline, which wasn’t cut straight at all. I wanted to save the original cover in case the redline wore out. The shop recommended to not use the foam as eventually it would compress and leave an indentation from my elbow. $60 later and I couldn’t be happier, the stitching is perfectly straight and even on both sides.

Hi there, I purchased a cover from Redline with stitching to match my Katzkin seat stitching color, popped the cover off with plastic pry tools, took it to an upholstery shop with a piece of medium density foam (Redline sent low density which would dent over time), and it turned out great.
