So, is this goofy behavior only on the auto system or does the basic manual A/C do this too?

I normally just turn the knob to Max A/C whenever I want A/C and leave it there for 9 months.
Manual. I ways have mine on manual. If i accidentally hit the auto button, it takes me forever to get it turned back off of the hurricane wind it blows

Cuz it’s a truck. I should of said every Ford suv. Anything with a cabin pressure vent near the exhaust.
I get that a truck's cabin is a lot farther away from its exhaust, but then why can't they move our cabin pressure vent AWAY from the exhaust somehow?

Has anyone tried one of the following to trick the recirc into staying on?

  • Interrupting the power to the air inlet door actuator using a relay tied to an aux switch
  • Tricking the outside temp sensor ( wiring a 12v heater with thermostat to the exterior temp sensor - seems terrible, but might work)
  • Tricking the inside humidity sensor using a some desiccant in a plastic bag around the sensor (sounds like this will not work - it's based on 'if exterior temp < 61F, then don't allow recirc for >60 sec).
