Recirculate Setting?

I don’t know if this is a bug or a feature but my recirculate cabin air settings will not stay on recirculate. After a few minutes it just switches off and as soon as I smell whatever smell I was avoiding I have to turn it back on. Is everyone’s Bronco doing this? Lux package btw

Every Ford does this now. Its not a Bronco only "feature". Highly aggravating. It was an engineering solution to a problem the explorer had with exhaust buildup in the cabin.

From what I got from the manual, while heating the vehicle, you're able to trigger this setting on for a limited amount before it goes back to non-recirculating mode to prevent interior fogging. Perhaps it works better with A/C mode?

No it does the same in AC mode. Only in max AC will it stay on longer, (fans full blast in this mode) but even then it kicks itself out regularly. Nothing like the Fords of past where it stayed in recirc if you set it to.

Try pushing and holding the recirculation button for 5 seconds or more to see if it will switch it to always On. On my FJ if i only push it on it stays for a couple of minutes and turns back off, but if i push and hold it, it will stay on until i turn it off.

What's "a few minutes"?

It stays on when you have the A\C on. If you turn A\C off then recirc will shut off after a couple of minutes.

I've never timed it but its less than 5. I would guess 2-3 minutes.

Only in max AC mode, and even in max AC it will turn it off and on.

Anyone else have a problem with massive amounts of air coming through the vents on the highway. I will set the fan to the lowest setting, but on the highway air gets forced through so it acts like it's set on med/high.

Tried using recirc to prevent it, but it kept kicking off like everyone else said.

Set your HVAC to the forward vents and then manually close them. I can really notice (hear) this when it's gusty and crosswindy....

This recirc thing is driving me crazy. Ford, I’m an adult. If I turn it off I want it off!!! If I turn it on I want in on!!! Don’t try to think for me.

So, how do I turn of the Big Brother feature of the Bronco?

Same problem. Happening on the MY22; did not notice it on the MY21.

have ac on, air blasting, and recirculating turns off within a couple minutes…perhaps even quicker than that.

Try driving around at King of the Hammers in a cloud of dust and the damn recirculate turns off constantly. I was trying to keep all of Johnson Valley out of my interior. Didn’t they test the Bronco there?
