Took apart my bronco to access the emergency release and it remains stuck shut.

The actuator is working when I use the fob and when I lift the door and try the handle it adds an extra click versus not lifted.

I have Fords bronco drawer and tailgate table, american adventure labs air compressor installed so access isnt easy! Whats my next step?

Take pics.
Get inside and have someone close door to see what's going on.
Try closing door with handle pulled, or any combination of closing until it decides to work correctly.

Why did you need to access the release in the first place? What are you doing? What changed?

It is stuck closed. The door will not open.

In that case, crawl in the back, removed the plastic grate, and use the emergency release. Sounds like something wasn't put back together correctly, or something is blocking the release

Why did you need to access the release in the first place? What are you doing? What changed

I had no idea there is an emergency release.
This isn't exactly what you are looking for but does have a really good video with it that might help

It doesn't help as I've already accessed the release and it doesn't open the door!
However I highly reccomend this for anyone doing any mods to their tailgate or putting in boxes in their bed to do this!

I will be putting one in before I put it back together!

Nothing has been put back together because the door will not open and my problem isn't solved.

The door remains unusable.

I think since the sensor tells me my tailgate is open, my next step will be to have some lift from the outside while I try the release inside, with and without them use the handle. That tailgate it heavy and sag is possible over time.
