Rear hatch won’t open

I have a 2021 4dr outer banks with very little issues up till now. Suddenly today I can’t open the rear hatch. I unlock and hear it click and pull on the handle but no luck. Doesn’t budge.
is there a manual unlock or some SW setting that denies opening?

There is a way to remove the plate from the inside of the vehicle, and manually release, but that will work only if no other things are holding it shut.
