Hey everyone, new here and have been having a couple of issues so far. Just recently bought a CPO 22 OBX, 4dr 2.3 non sas with soft top. This one is the latest possible issue (unless it’s normal?) that I’ve been dealing with in the past month and a half of ownership.

I noticed last week in heavy rain that there was water in the cargo area on a pillow that I use as a barrier between the actual cargo and the rear hatch. Figured it was just from run off or whatever, so didn’t pay it much mind.

well, after this most recent storm yesterday when I opened the hatch I saw rain coming out of the latch assembly. Should this be a warranty claim or something else? The seal from the top soft seems okay and I don’t notice any water anywhere else, but the hatch under the latch area does appear to be starting to peel.

Haven’t been successful with googling it either for a remedy. Thanks in advance!

edit; whoops, wrong category. Didn’t mean to post in the Raptor forum 🤦My bad!

Is there water built up in your tailgate or is that just the water coming down from the top of the tailgate?

If it's built up water, there should be a couple plugs on the bottom that you can use to drain it in the meantime

It’s for sure build up. Will drain it for sure, thanks! Just wondering if this is a “normally” occurring thing or if I should take it in.

Yeah, definitely not normal so I would take it in.

Check for a blockage when you remove the drain plugs, could just be something like that

Check the rubber plug where the wires come through the tailgate behind the left side of your spare and make sure it’s in place. Also might not hurt to clean and lube the seals around the door/window

Hello, I would like to see if I can assist you with your hatch concerns. Could you please send us a message with your VIN and mileage?

Checked and no blocks (that I could see) or drainage occurred from the plugs. Was leaking again this morning after it rained in the same spot. Seal still looked okay to my untrained eyes and saw no wetness around the top seal and the hatch. That would be the only place I could understand it getting in from, but idk.

Going to take it in - thanks for the advice and the troubleshooting ideas!
