Ah ha, to make you feel better, the handles are cheaper/easier to repair. My 4 doors and 2 rear fender flares got rock chipped BAD after just 2 weeks of driving to work (6km each way, dirt and gravel road, 12km total every weekday) And the OEM splash guard will not fit the badland due to rock rails. Trying to find a reasonably priced mud flaps now. Oh, forgot to mention that my Bronco's paint got ceramic coating done at the dealer.

The ceramic coating should have protected the paint, it's ceramic after all.

Sorry, I can't help but laugh at the thousand-dollar wax jobs people pay for. Who would have thought all the Porsche guys that got laughed at for using Zaino just needed to add the word "ceramic" to their hydrophobic coatings to unlock all 47 levels down into peoples wallets.

My Bronco is always covered in dirt no matter what I do. I wash it every week, but as soon as I drive it down my road - covered in dirt or mud. I am going to use my fordpass points to get some mud flaps, I think. I finally broke down and got some on my truck and it cut down on the coating of dirt so much.
I've had them on my Tacoma since day one, not once did I have a 'rooster tail' of dirt up my sides. I sure don't want that on my Bronco, doesn't even look 'cool' in an 'look at me, I'm an off roader!' kind of way, just looks like work I could have avoided and possible damage to my paint. I'll install mudflaps before the first rain - if we ever get rain again here.

Good point. Being new to the mud scene here… I’ve got the 4wp running boards waiting on their Bronco. Does runningboards replace the need for mudflaps?
I somewhat doubt it, since the fender flares "go in" towards the body at the bottom, but they'll definitely help. I have flaps and running boards on my Taco and never had dirt up on the sides, just the way I like it. I'd just wait and see how it works out with your running boards installed, get flaps if necessary then.

Sorry these pics aren't the greatest but I have Go Rhino steps on my BL SAS. Haven't done any serious off roading yet, but on gravel roads I can hear the rocks pinging off the steps. So far no chips on the rockers, just under 1,000 miles. Visually they cover the pinch welds pretty good

It's is the crappy Goodyear tires they are rock grabbers. Look at every tire close up picture and their full of rocks waiting to mess up something. Good off road tires are designed to prevent picking up rocks. Will loose mine asap for Nitto recons.

It's insane how many people fall for the ceramic marketing lies. Ceramic is good stuff but in no way can or will it protect from chips or scratches.

I ordered those damn mud flaps. We have season passes to ski and all the gravel they put on the snow and rocks will destroy the paint.

No. Mulitply this times 10 and it is what my Bronco looks like right now. The running boards are absolutely coated from front to back with mud after it rained. I am getting mud flaps.
