So on our ‘BadSas when ever you come to a stop and let off the brakes, you can hear the thud and the ass end feels like it drops. Has anyone had that issue?
It randomly started it about two weeks ago

Most likely the rear driveshaft. Very common issue

Well shit lmao
Yeah. Unfortunately even if you replace it, it will likely return. I’m on my 3rd one. It goes away for 15-20k miles then comes back. I’ve just learned to deal with it now since I’m out of 3/36 warranty 🤷‍♂️
It’s not hurting anything. It’s just annoying

Oh man I thought I was going crazy. I just noticed this same thing. Came out of nowhere. 7,500 miles. So the solution is just to ignore it?

Because I’m ADHD and it’s taking a lot for me NOT to dismantle the rear end 😂
You could replace the driveshaft with an aftermarket one and it may fix the issue for good. There’s a few aftermarket companies that make one.

The issue, and the “thud”, is coming from the slip joint in the middle of the shaft.

You could also try and remove the clamps/boot and then lube the splines. I’m not sure how long that repair would last though.

Wouldn’t that fall under 5/60 drivetrain warranty?

Damn, this is gonna drive me nuts when it happens. Does stop/start mode being on/off have any impact on this?

For what it's worth I always have the ASS disabled on mine.

Ducati - how hard is the install on the rear driveshaft? I see Reel has a heavy duty one for $699. Also is there an easy way to tell for sure if this is the issue? If you get under there can you tell by looking or poking around?
