Hi All,

I'm starting to go a bit crazy with the rattle coming from just above the windshield on the driver's side. I don't think that it's the one associated with the side airbag, though that one happens occasionally as well. The rattle only comes above 60 mph or so, or on particularly windy days, so I'm pretty sure it relates to something that the wind is moving on the outside of the truck rather than anything that's just loose and rattling with any bumps. My nearest guess is that the painted plastic? on the "accessory ready" mount is loose in some way and rattling when the speed gets up. I can move it around a little from the outside but I'm nervous to do anything with it without knowing how to get it back on.

Anyone else run into this?

Hi Sean. Can you send us a DM with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into this for you.

Did you check the latch covers for the top? They're plastic pieces that snap over the metal latch that live right over the driver and passenger seats. Mine rattled and squeaked like crazy because they're just loosely held in with 2 small clips.

I have a hard top so it may be different in a soft top.

I took both of them off and stuffed them with sound deadening material before re-installing. No more rattle. It was hands down the worst rattle in the vehicle after the sub rattle that I fixed with a single shop towel.

It's a very hard sound to pinpoint, but you can rule it out quite easily just by having someone hold it with their hand as you drive. It also sounds almost identical to the A pillar airbag rattle that some (including myself at one point) have suffered.

Good call out, I'll give it a shot, I always forget that I've got a big box of sound deadening material in my basement that I can resort to.
