I have a wild track on order and pretty much convinced I’m unlikely to see it until this time next year…maybe….saw on Reddit bronco page that someone was selling one in my hometown and immediately drove to the dealership. This order fell through due to the order holder not being able to qualify for financing. Going to lift it and put 35’s and hope to sell it for what I paid for it once mine comes in. Just pumped I finally have one after waiting so long!

it blows my mind that people are reserving cars that they don't know how they are going to pay for once they arrive. I wonder if this is mostly people ordering more car than they can really afford, or just people who have no business trying to finance a 30-60k car to begin with.

I get circumstances can change in a year, but those are outliers and these stories are too common for that to be the scenario every time.

Good job to you though, you clearly win in this situation

Were you able to avoid a huge dealer markup? Congrats and enjoy!

Don’t kid yourself. It’s all dealership workers and their friends/family who are refusing delivery. There are some rules around take rates - i.e. (x%) of reservation holders must be the ones actually taking delivery - but it’s fair game until they reach that % and who’s to say Ford will actually enforce it. Ford can’t even figure out how reservation time stamps work.

I will say this particular dealership was located in a lower income area and the dealer said it happens to them all the time so who knows. I agree some dealerships could be doing this but would take a lot of coordination, first or second day reservation all to make a few grand? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Go enjoy the hell out of it. It will hold its value and then some. Looks like we have similar “temporary solutions”. Though, if they keep coming up with shitty metallic colors I may stick with our MY21 Iconic Silver…the OG metallic.

I hate it when dealer employees have their financing fall through. You would think the GM would pay them more for all the ADM generated by placing “phantom” orders that get abandoned to dealer stock. Poor guys just can’t catch a break.

I just did the same thing last week. Mine is a silver outer banks. I also ordered a Wildtrak. I was getting to the point where I really needed a new vehicle, so I took the risk and bought it. Someone made a great point that if you have a good interest rate, you are actually beating inflation which I think is around 6% right now. Anyway, I love mine! Enjoy!

Inflation right now is temporary. If 6% were a real number interest rates wouldn't be as low as they are. Banks aren't in the business of losing money.

Don't figure financing below 6% means you're getting a good deal, especially if that 5.89% in on an 84 month note.

Lol... I'm waiting for a dealership to open so I can check on a unicorn 3hrs away. I seriously doubt it's available, let alone near MSRP... But I gotta check. It's a 2dr Wildtrack. Shadow black, high package, tow... If it's available and nearish mrsp I'm driving out and buying it today....
