congrats. I never heard of anyone getting turned down for financing. Most places assure 100% approval. THey must have had some really crapping credit score and tons of loans for that to happen. Guess they should have known better than to buy a $30k+ vehicles

it blows my mind that people are reserving cars that they don't know how they are going to pay for once they arrive. I wonder if this is mostly people ordering more car than they can really afford, or just people who have no business trying to finance a 30-60k car to begin with.

I get circumstances can change in a year, but those are outliers and these stories are too common for that to be the scenario every time.

Good job to you though, you clearly win in this situation
It doesn’t really surprise me at all tbh. This is what happens when you let people buy cars online or reserve them for $100. As you said circumstances could have changed. But, most people buy cars off a lot where a dealer runs numbers and tells them what the payment will be. Americans, especially young ones are stupid as hell and think they deserve everything. They have no concept of money or reality or common sense. I would say a large part of people ordered without ever looking at their finances and running calculators to get an idea of what that payment would be for them. Sticker shock when they walk in with .56 to put down and it’s $600 a month for a 40K car.

Lol... I'm waiting for a dealership to open so I can check on a unicorn 3hrs away. I seriously doubt it's available, let alone near MSRP... But I gotta check. It's a 2dr Wildtrack. Shadow black, high package, tow... If it's available and nearish mrsp I'm driving out and buying it today....

I wonder the same. Like what does it take to actually get turned down for financing?

Is it just me or does it look like that Bronco has no soul. There is an empty, dark look in the headlights that to me seems it knew it was just going to be passed around for the beginning of its life.

I tend to forget my former life quite often. Can't tell you how many people came into my dealership wanting a 45k explorer for $300/mo. No concept of how much things cost or what msrp equals what payment. They just think "I need a 3rd row so I must be able to afford it. Oh and while I'm at it it should be a 4wd limited 302a"

Yep!! When I chose what I wanted I took a 4% interest rate and calculated it out with half of what I expected to put down to get the payment in the ballpark of where I wanted it to be. This gave me an idea of what the vehicle cost had to be before taxes and fees. That way I don’t end up high and (should) end up low. I see 18 year olds driving 50K SS camaros, I didn’t buy a car like that till my 30’s.

Tell me you live near a military base without telling me you live near a military base

Most expensive car I ever owned was a 66k K900. But I bought it 3 years used for 26k and sold it a few weeks ago for 20k. Beyond that I leased a 42k mks when rebates were insane (1k down 299/mo) and bought my wife a rav4xse new cash. My bronco as planned is barely over 31k and Chapham is selling it to me for a little less than 30.

One man's misfortune is another man's gain.
My dealer ran a finance check when I went in to convert my reservation to an order.

I just did the same thing last week. Mine is a silver outer banks. I also ordered a Wildtrak. I was getting to the point where I really needed a new vehicle, so I took the risk and bought it. Someone made a great point that if you have a good interest rate, you are actually beating inflation which I think is around 6% right now. Anyway, I love mine! Enjoy!
Congratulations. Glad to see you finally get a Bronco. I remember seeing you comment over the last few months about how badly you needed a new vehicle. Were you driving an F-150 in the meantime, or waiting on a Lightning? I forget.

Lol well I guess when I say “see” I mean I see people saying this online. When I had my camaros I was on forums and Facebook and there were kids talking about they just got their SS and it’s only $800 a month. My most expensive car is 55K and I got it for 47K.

Hey instead of being an asshole about it why don’t you offer some suggestions. admittedly I have no idea what I’m doing or what I should get. This particular bronco will probably never go off roading but I enjoy the look of the Sasquatch package more than the base 32s. Will mostly be taken down to the beach a few times. What would you suggest. Black diamond, standard, 2.3L

The 4.46's will be adequate to spin 35's for road driving. The sasquatch comes with 4.7, but so does a manual BL, so optimum gear for a manual on 35's might be 4.88ish. Re-gears are pretty expensive and it's something that can be done at a later time if you don't want to do it immediately, just know that you'll lose acceleration.

If you don't re-gear when you upgrade, make sure you go to your dealership and have them adjust your computer settings or your speedometer will show low. Not good in school zones... ask me how I know

Most likely, the parents have money and bought it for the 18 year old. Just drive through any college campus town on a Sunday.
