Was thinking of adding snorkel but have read Airaid has been discontinued and to stay away from IAG. Buffeting is main concern. I do not care if I get more turbo noise.

I don't like the looks of Everglades version.

Any real world experience appreciated.

Interested in KN since ARB doesn't seem to have one.

You are not going to like this, but you don't need one. They are pretty much useless. If you are in water that deep, you will be floating, and unless you have paddle tires you will be up a creek without a paddle. Don't believe the line that it puts the intake above the dust, it doesn't. If you like the look, get the one you think it cool, but you will destroy your hood and reduce your resale value. Have fun.

The buffeting with our snorkel is from the soft top. The hard top does not exhibit the same behavior.

The hatters are out already, not sure how it destroys the hood, maybe he intended to say fender.

The IAG is nearly a clone to the Ford model which you don't like the looks of, your pickings are going to be slim.
Maybe a DIY is in your future.

I am not a hatter. I love that people modify their vehicles, even though I don't always like what they do. Way better than someone who just drives their old Prius until the tires fall off. If you want a snorkel, go for it. If it is for looks, great. If it is for water fording or dust avoidance, you can believe what you want, but the reality is that it is pretty much worthless. I was just trying to give the OP some off roading advice. I love Broncos and I love modified Broncos.

Thank you very much for the advice. It is for looks, I live in Dallas and other than mountain roads near Taos and Durango, this thing is never off road. I want D90 look and with my Thule platform rack and yanking the hideous WildTrak decals off, I'm almost there. Just thought snorkel would finish the look I'm chasing. I will never sell this rig.

I’m glad we both agree that letting people customize and not hating on them because we don't like it.

Your info on a snorkel on the Bronco as not being useful is not factual.
The ford snorkel closes off the airbox under the hood which stops water being ingested in the majority of water crossing situations actual Bronco owners find themself in.
That bow wave can flood your airbox with the stock intake location as well as can to much splashing, it cannot flood it with the snorkel from Ford unless you have water over the snorkel fender penetration point long enough that it can start to flood in the small drain holes. You would need to virtually park in water over your hood at this point.
If the snorkel intake is rear facing it absolutely catches less dust than the factory intake opening at the grill. Less being the key.

I hear this falsehood a lot, the arguments that water will kill the alternator so that makes the snorkel useless. that’s more scare tactic than truth, the alternator will run submerged. It’s the crap in the water (organic debris, sand) that kill the alternator. So you might or might not kill it, but it likely won’t be clean water that does so.
Everything under your hood can get wet and is pretty water resistant.
This in no way endorses going into submarine mode or saying that you won’t have to replace items more frequently if you play in the water and mud. Because you will have to check fluids and replace things sooner if you play in the mud.

If you see a person running a snorkel going in water hood deep and you don’t have a snorkel, do not follow, the snorkel absolutely allows for deeper water crossing ability over the stock open intake.
No you can’t run in parascope mode in a factory Bronco with or without a snorkel.
Not a Bronco.

I don't disagree with a lot you said. I have seen people race across a stream with a big bow wake, which I disagree with, and I know that can cause a problem. Some actually say it keeps water out of the engine bay, but I am not going to test that theory. However, unless you really know a water crossing, going in deep water, over what the Bronco is built for, many times it will cause a loss of traction because of floatation. Also, that deep of water can cause water to enter the difs through the vents if the water is higher than the vent. As a practice crossing water that deep should not be done unless you are a real professional. I also do not disagree that the snorkel being turned around backwards will cut down on the dust ingested, but 99% of the snorkels I have seen are facing forward, I guess for "ram air". I have been off roading for over 20 years with lots of Jeeps, now a Bronco, and RZRs, all over the country, and my humble opinion, a snorkel is not worth the money, but I do agree it "looks cool".

I guess I was looking for more of a "my use case" opinion. With this being said, are there any pitfalls considering this is basically a mall crawler that will go up a moutain road once or twice a year...oh, and I live in Texas so not really harsh wether here.

It's funny, I too have owned 10 Wranglers over the last 20 years and wheeled quite a bit, I just never thought about a snorkel with my kind of wheeling.

Thanks for everyone's contributions.

I agree that most people using a snorkel do it for looks, it’s not the best bang for the buck when it comes to performance mods.
It’s a highly specialized mod for a very specific task.
growing up in FL water is a big part of the 4x4 world, one learns quick about water and mechanical limitations and maintenance.

Cheers 🍻
