Good afternoon, if someone could share a quick tip. I have a manual transmission and I'm trying to run my amp power wire through the front of the car. And I cannot find dad blank grommet space that everyone is using. Is it different on a manual? Or am? I just not looking hard enough. Thanks in advance.

You can see it in your pic - immediately behind where the hood latch is. Almost exactly where you have the flashlight aimed

The grommet itself is like 1 1/2” across and it has a nipple in the middle about 1/2”

The grommet you are looking for does not exist on the manual transmission because it is used for the clutch.

You have to run it through the factory grommet instead.

Good luck! It's loads of "fun".

If you need more details, I got a video on it.

I also just walked @mjp2 through it with his audio upgrade. He might have some sage advice.

Thank you!! None of the other videos I watched were done on a Manual. Thought I was going a little crazy when I couldn't find it. But it was a long day, forscan changes, stripping everything out and adding sound deadening and Metra rear pods, T-harness and wiring (and wipng everything down, these things get dusty.)

Pouring rain all day tomorrow. I'll tackle this on Monday, along with front speakerscamps and sub.

Thanks again.

On the main wiring harness grommet, there is a nipple you cut off to feed a wire through. Thats what it’s there for. It’s fun getting to but doable. I’m sure there are pictures of it on here.

I do have a manual transmission and have used this location to feed wires through the firewall.

Found a thread where you can see the nipple. You just cut the tip off at the cut line.

Thank you.

That's a great shot of it. Just eyballin it's going to be tough to get a 4 gauge amp wire thru there.

Probably. Might be able to cut it off completely though and still shove it through in that area.

I was actually able to get this sorted out pretty quick.

I have an old file set from Lowe's with an interchangeable handle. I used a really fine file to start a pilot hole stepped it up to a larger file, and was able to push it all the way thru which sucked in the little "nipple" part. Then I found an old curtain rod "half inch pipe" cut it down to about 6 inches and then filed teeth into it. Lubed it a little slid it in and then when I felt resistance, I slowly turned with a little bit of pressure and it popped right thru. I left it in place and then slid the wire thru the pipe. Went inside pulled the pipe thru and then pulled all the wire thru. This ended up working way easier than I expected.

Side note, when I went in to cab to pull the wire thru I blindly put my hand up to grab it (you really can't see anything up there while your working) grabbed the clutch spring and pulled back a handful of grease. I freaked out because I thought I must have punctured something. First thing I thought was oh great I'm going to have to take my car in to get the clutch fixed they're going to see it all stripped down with wires running everywhere.

After a couple quick searches on here it became apparent that everyone's clutch spring is well greased, and it operated fine so...Whew!

Thanks for the help.
