For those that have a pulley system…what does your set up look like? Trying to see if I can do a pulley system for either the hardtop or rooftop tent. Do you think that’s enough room?

What's upstairs? Any chance you can mount the hoist on the other side of that floor - buys you about 8-10" it looks like. I have an idea in mind for mine but since I have no car yet - I'm on hold for my build but I am planning on setting mine up to minimize the hoist/picking point angle loss and try to have it as tight to the ceiling as possible - like within 4-6" if I can. My electric hoist will be set inside the ceiling joists and recessed above the sheetrock. Then a Strut bar cage to lower onto the Bronco, with short individual tiedowns that will attach to the clamshell at the roofrack pick points attached to the cage. both a center and offset pick point on the cage (for loaded and unloaded balance point) and a straight pull to the ceiling. - Also will look to extend my remote controller on my hoist.

Maybe post here for more visibility:

Above is a loft for storage.Miscellaneous things are up there, but I’m just trying to really utilize the walls and the loft ceiling. Beyond the loft, my ceiling is between 10-15 feet tall. I don’t feel comfortable having a RTT or the hardtop up that high.

Forgot to mention my additonal plan for longer-term (summer) top storage. I am not comfortable with just using the roofrack tie down points either - so I plan to install some strut bar on the ceiling as well, and then spring loaded (so they can be removed for aesthetics when not in use) threaded rods hanging down just slightly past the fully raised roof. Then a pair of strut bars with a wingnut (think sparetire nylon handled type wingnut) that will attach to the threaded rod and under the rook clamshell, to act essentially like a floating shelf from the ceiling and take just enough pressure off the clamp/tiedowns on the roof, but not enough to dislodge them.
