Nobody should be paying for that. Warranty or not, that is a design flaw. There ought to be a recall and 100% goodwill for anybody that has the problem. Too many people roll over and accept garbage like that.

I agree 100%. My wire tubing is already wearing through. Probably going to have to remove the bumper to make a more substantial fix.

Anyone have a place to buy the wire harness for the rear BLIS sensor? The one that has been shown in mine and the OP's pics? I found this one, but was wondering if there is a "better" or more creditable source? I will be replacing it myself as I won't pay $1200 for the repair and I am out of warranty.

Link to the location for the harness below.

I need to replace both mine. Took the bumper off and went to connect them back up and both connectors would not seat back together. Looked down in and the orange grommet had become unseated and one of them cracked. Tried grease with no luck. I think I want to try and repin them with this new OEM connector linked above.

Now that it is not below zero every day I may finally replace the wire harness. However I lay wait to here what the dealer would charge since I am waiting for them to get parts for the 2-3 open recalls for the car.

Add me to the list. Fortunately, I think I caught it in time. I wrapped the wires with some cloth tape and then put some 1/4” plastic wire wrap over it.

I also had an issue with getting the connectors to reseat, I got one to go back together and the other I had to fish the grommet out - I slathered some dielectric grease in place of the it. If I had to do it again I would have just unscrewed the two torx for the sensor and left it plugged in to get better access to the wiring. The grommet in the connector is finicky.

The worst of it was I found another harness (for parking sensors I believe) had rubbed through my paint. Here’s a pic of that; it’s passenger side just to the inside and below the blind spot sensor:
