I entered my voucher ID through Ford performance and subsequently downloaded the ProCal software. After hooking up the ProCal device, the instructions indicate that it should connect automatically, but nothing is happening at this step.....

Try different USB cables. Some are "charge only" (including some that shipped with procal) and won't let a data connection through

Still the same. It shows that the procal installer package was successful, but doesn't do anything when I plug in the procal.

I uninstalled everything, restarted the computer and started from scratch it's actually working now LOL. That's the third time I did that. What a Mickey mouse set up.

For others that stumble across this, I had the same issue and after trying several things was able to fix it with a cheap USB hub dongle. It has to do with these devices being old/cheap hardware and not being able to handle a high device address assigned by the computer. A USB hub fixes this by starting from scratch when assigning addresses.
