Reviving this thread only because it looks like yesterday a recall was issued that seemed to exactly align with the symptoms of this fire. When reading the NHTSA report, the description matched what I had reported to the NHTSA. Glad to know they found the issue.

Thanks. I used this thread as the basis. I think I may be the first one who did this mod on a 2025+ though. It was much more challenging than earlier models. Tighter clearances and more modding required to fit. I will post an update over there with how I did it...

I would note, if you are concerned and you still have a warranty, buy it direct from the Ford website when its 20% off and add in the installation from a dealer for $112. Its easy to do yourself, but for $112 it was worth the extra piece of mind because it's documented as installed by the dealer.
