Have an update on this situation. After several of weeks of no "pre-collision assist not available" messages appearing, the condition returned. Mostly immediately after start up, and within a minute or two of pulling away from a parking spot. Several times the alert came on while driving on the highway. The alert would almost always go away after several minutes of driving. This was mostly an annoyance for us. Bronco was still drivable, when the alert was on cruise control was not available. Fast forward to January when the alert popped up and would not go away. Even after shutting the vehicle off...even overnight.
Time to take the Bronco in for service. The Ford dealer I am working with quickly diagnosed the problem as a "water intrusion" issue said it was covered under warranty and ordered a new adaptive cruise module and wiring harness.
Adaptive Cruise module has come in but the wiring harness is MIA and the service department has no idea when they will be able to get the wiring harness in. @Ford Motor Company can you help with finding the part?
