Has anyone installed the power steps? I’m leaning toward the Rough Country because they’re around $1,000
How do you like them?

About 16 months of daily use on the wife’s Heritage LE - she loves ‘em and they have performed flawlessly. Highly recommend 10/10

I would say that's about right, if everything goes as it should! We had an issue and had to get a replacement part. (The power boards were doing opposite things so we had to pause and start all over when the replacement part arrived.) That's just our normal luck though! haha! I don't fault RC and the running boards work perfectly!

Hi, I put RC boards on my heritage 4 dr. They perform well.good step in height for shorter people I am 6-2 for me its easier to get in without the step so the on/off switch is handy.
They are a little loud /clunky probably because of the dual motors. Mine didn't come with a plug and play wiring which I think they offer so wiring was complex and time consuming . The steps are sturdy and well designed . I would buy again. I have AMP steps on another truck as a comparison and both perform well. Hope this helps .

I have a Raptor and installed them on an HLE - there is no reason they would fit & operate properly on a Braptor. I wouldn’t wheel with them tho - they don’t offer the protection that the OEM Raptor boards do.

Yeah, you hit on my exact hesitation… the ability to switch between them easily…

We had Rough Country power steps installed on our 2024 Black Diamond last summer. We love them. Have worked perfectly so far. Has a light under body that comes on when they are down. Folded up they look like rock sliders.

Well, well well. What a coinky dink.
I'm *was* installing these today but hit a snag.
I don't see how to run the wiring harness in to the cab. It says through the rubber grommet in the floor of the driver's seat area. It looks like in the photo they mean the drain plug.
The problem is, there's a heat shield immediately on the other side of the body there on my Bronco. And 1" from that heat shield is the catalytic converter.
I think I can fish the wires between the body and the heat shield, but the only way to come out is towards the center line of the bronco. I then have to get those wires towards the pinch weld by going over or under the catalytic converter/exhaust to plug in to the controller mounted to the inside of the pinch weld.

I've taken a break for dinner and to research other people that have installed them to see how they ran the wires.

The first video I found the instruction seem to be completely different. He ran the wires through the rear row seats floorboard. I don't think my wires are long enough to do that. Plus he didn't run it through the rubber grommet, he ran it through one of those plugs with the plastic positive pressure valve (i think) things in it.

I called Rough Country and talked to one of the guys there. He wasn't sure what to recommend, they've only ever done it 'through the rubber grommet' and didn't find anything about any heat shields.

More research required.

They don't have a plug and play option for these, the amp research do though.
When you installed these, how did you run the wires in to the cab? Through the drain plug, or some where else?
