That's a shame about the brightness. This is what I had in my interceptor - didn't cost this much about 4 years ago though, and I know for sure that it was just the bumb part that I replaced and not the whole unit (the interceptor alreadyy had the unity spotlight mounted, I just converted it from the 100w tungsten bulb to the 30W LED one).It's held up well and still works despite me being on many dusty trails and power washing the thing numerous times. The dv8 mount was a lucky find as its wide enough to be able to mount the thing.
Install was fairly easy. The inside control unit is a bit cheap and mine got dust in it which made the turning thing feel gritty but it was an easy disassembly and cleaning.
Total light output is a bit lacking in this unit, wish it had more lumens frankly. Overall I recommend it. Def not a need as a modern flashlight will probably outperform it.
I won't be drilling any holes in the A-pillar of my Bronco though, especially considering the boron steel they're made of. LOL
