I don't like having my phone too high or too low and hadn't seen anything that would work out there. So I made my own using an existing magsafe phone mount and modifying it so I could mount it a bit lower than the screen. I can still see mostly all of the buttons in portrait and if I need to see more I just spin it to landscape. I used a T shaped mending plate from Home Depot. A magsafe mount from Amazon and a can of gloss black. Keeps my phone at arm length and height. Anyway took about 30 minutes and of course paint dry time.
Always looking for better ideas but just didn't see anything out there. I admit I am not the best when it comes to modding so it will be cool to see what others came up with...

Here was my solution, dual phone mount, all completely out of the way of the screen. Obviously more expensive than your solution as I sourced everything off Amazon.

Looks great. I like it. I did similar to that last year. I find it the perfect location and the magnetic is awesome.

I like it. How did you fasten it to the dashboard?

1/2 inch screws underneath. Nothing shows unless you get on the floor board and look up ha

Actually the bulletpoint mount is the only magsafe mount that seems to work for me with all the mountain top stuff I do. Currently in search of a solid tablet mount for my iPad that works well but doesn't cost hundreds of dollars...

Did you consider the mag safe mount from Course Motorsports?

Sweet! What I’ve been looking for. Looks like it needs a few more holes for screws to give it a stair mounting but yeah that’s a great product! I did save $30 over their version by building this myself.
I do like their charging version but at $90 I might just stay with what I built.
Thanks for the heads up tho. I can tell you I probably would’ve bought one had I known they existed before I built the one I have.

Their mounting system, using the screws for the Ford Performance plate, might give you an alternative to where you are mounting your current DIY mount.
