I love the "idea" of AMB, but in real life I have a very hard time seeing any blue in it, even when parked next to a black truck.
The idea being something like GM & BMW's "Black Sapphire".
The rain shots I took were the best I have seen it.

Good link to show the AMB. I owned a Black Sapphire BMW for 8 years and it still is one of my fav colors. Although to me it was 100% black metallic. No real hint of blue. I now have a black metallic Jeep GC but the BMW metallic was definitely supreme. Not sure what the "GM" stands for but I do feel AMB is definitely a cross between a black and a dark blue metallic. Very odd/unique shade indeed. I am actually thinking of getting it but currently prefer CO. AMB is a close second.

I meant to post this shot. Just a bit less shadow on the back end.

Are you sure this was AMB? I didn’t see it offered for the sport?
No. I’m now sure that it was not AMB. My initial post stated, “I was told...“.

The sales guys said that it was AMB. I can’t believe that the sales staff were wrong. ?

There wasn’t a proper window sticker affixed to it. The window sticker read,
“ Not yet for sale”.

As @Lowcountry Bronco noted in this thread, the sport doesn’t come in AMB. It’s Alto Blue. My bad.

Nice shots. I saw your post before. I considered Malbec black for my Q50. It was black in all but direct sunlight. In direct sunlight It had great purple hue.

Oddly enough, I stopped by the dealer tonight, they had an F250 in AMB parked off to the side, and in the dark, away from the main parking lot lights, the blue stood out much better than many of the other times I had seen it.
Now I'm back to undecided....LOL
