Cactus Gray & Area 51 (side by side in the sun and in the shade) Photos & Videos

I have now seen the Area 51 color on both the Sport and regular Bronco. For some odd damn reason (maybe due to size and grey top?), the color stands out a lot more on the regular Bronco than on the Sport one. It’s just more noticeable and draws your attention to it more than the Sport version does.

I believe that was Kodiak Brown. It's only offered on the Bronco Sport. It was a dark brown with metallic.

Just saw those Sports at Phil Long...KB is like AMB - Black unless the sun is on it.

I saw these today at Phil Long. Took a vid but it doesn’t add anything to OP. (Great Job!) It was the first time for me seeing either color in person. Yup, no blue at all (!) in cactus gray. Maybe a very very slight hint of green but not remotely “mint” as has been described. Were I to give it a name, I would call it, Putty.

I had been warned the Area 51 is NOT baby blue and i bought in. When I saw it in person, the one in the sun looked baby blue to me. I was in love after the overland concept photos but not now. Much more drawn to Cactus. The one in shade was better but i kept thinking, “I can’t drive it in the shade all the time, can I?’

Now for the Op Ed. I think both of the colors were enhanced by the dark blacks on the Sports. I am really thinking both of these colors will suffer from the MIC top on the Bronco. Again, I haven’t seen the tops in reality either but some of the pics just scream clash. I will probably go with CG and MIC anyway and look at options later to have the top black. Peace.

Completely agree. When I saw A51 on the sport I wasn’t impressed at all, but after seeing it on the overland concept I was blown away. It looked great and went surprisingly well with the MIC top.

Was out doing a brithday drive in my '61 Thunderbird and stopped by the local dealership on the offchance they had something to look at. Tucked at the back of the lot hidden on all sides by bigger trucks I found this pair. I thought I liked the A51 color but seeing it in person actually eliminated it from contention for me. I just didn't like it as much as I thought. So back to CO or VB for me.

I'm in Colorado Springs and stopped by my dealership who had 5 Bronco Sports. (Colorado Springs is home to Ford Credit and all 5 will be drive by Ford Credit Executives for the next few months)

They had 2 Cactus Gray's and 2 Area 51's...in the sun and in the shade. Did my best to get photos and videos of both out in the sun and in the shade. After seeing them in person, I love the Cactus Gray.

Think it would it be fair to say the fenders & bumper are closer to the MIC top color we're getting on the Bronco? Or no?

I'm really liking the CG here. Just trying to imagine it with the MIC top.

Too much green for me in the cactus gray. No sure about A51 either. It looks good when it’s dark/overcast but I don’t like how it looks in sunlight (at least in the pics).

Thanks OP for posting the photos. Using your image, I was able to extract the color onto a 2-Door, Badlands.

Earlier today I was convinced on Area 51, but as others have said, Cactus Grey has such a rich, unique look to it (Especially when paired with a white top).

So often, you see images of Cactus Grey almost appearing light blue (See 3rd image).

Based on what I saw, it has a slight green tint. However, it picks up colors from the surroundings, so it can appear different from that perspective. It looks different in the shade...less green and lighter. Overall, it look fantastic to me and a color that you rarely see. It's gonna look good on a big Bronco!

During the initial launch video, I was almost certain of going Cactus Gray after seeing it on the 4 door. Then seeing pictures after, where it appeared more blue, I was worried and was set on going Silver/Carbon. Fairway Ford in Placentia, CA has a Bronco Sport in Cactus Gray ?, my worries are gone, and I am sticking with it.

Well, I still need to see it in person. But on the color book it was just way different, way darker. I can’t speak too much to it on the vehicle but it was more teal looking to me.

I saw Cactus Gray yesterday. It looks like light olive.
