Have been eyeing a Trailrax rack -- is it recommended not to run those things through a car wash?
Dumb question  a quick search shows it's a terrible idea to run racks through roller washes. Hand washing/touchless it is!

I didn't run mine through a car wash until I found a touchless car wash. I think the stock Ford rack is the only one I'd consider running through a regular car wash.

If you're worried about chips you might want to just to film on the front of the hood and leading edge of the fenders.

I picked a color that doesn't show chips or dirt and will barely show pinstripes.

I had film put on my headlights, parking lights and fog lights before I had the ceramic coating applied.

My .02,as others mentioned too, as I do the following always for the lady’s and my vehicle:

1. Ceramic at an independent specialty shop - no dealer.
2. PPF hood at a minimum and go from there $$-
3. Hand wash only
4. Leaf blower drying, then microfiber
5. Apply ceramic sealer spray to bring to a nice gloss.

Worth it imo🤙🏽
