It has been very hard to watch all the accessory prices drastically increase, my trade in value drastically decrease... But it seems like a mistake to buy parts for something you don't even know if/when you will get it.

All it takes is one Ford announcement to rock your world.

It is a risk for sure. I have wheels and tires and numerous other items already in my Garage waiting for my build. Probably $4-5K just waiting to be installed. I am an early reservation holder and no end in sight. I just hope no design changes occur where some of this will no longer fit....and...I hope to not be pushed to MY23 where I suspect they will drop Cyber Orange as my color choice as some of my items I have are color specific.

That is my concern, I need a build date/vin before I am willing to order these items. Now it looks worse becasue you might/will get a last second build date and it takes a while for the parts to come in. First world problems.

When people want to know if you are going to cancel because you’ve waited so long, just tell them you can’t cancel because you’ve already invested 4k in parts. Then watch the look on their face (Non-off road people don’t have a clue).

Normally it is somewhere between dumb and moronic, but with inflation running like it is, the risk of having to sell cheap if it doesn't work out is mitigated some by the presumed cost savings or shortages in the future. That tilts the equation closer to dumb.

I mean having a production date doesn't really matter. I have had five probably looking at a sixth. First one was week of 2/28 the most recent was 4/22 pretty much has pushed every week like clockwork but hey I have a VIN I can show people now!!

I’ve restrained myself to only ordering small items so far. Grab handles, console insert from @Mabett, custom colored Ford badge, black bronco emblem, and stubby antenna.

I keep slapping my hands away from buying the rockfighter set from ADD until the truck is actually on the way.

Even having a build date and an estimated delivery date are no guarantee. My Bronco was supposed to arrive early February (build week 1/17), but I'm still waiting.

All of the accessories I ordered in anticipation are now long past their return windows.

First time for me was right after I placed my order...knowing that it will be at least another 12-18 months before I can expect (hope) for delivery. I had to buy at least one thing to hold me over.
Decided on fender emblems that I can look at from time to time. Lol

That was actually a pretty good move seeing how Ford has shut down most of those with copyright infringement stuff.

True, however the wait time for most of those accessories is going to be equal or possibly if even exceed our expected delivery of our vehicles.
