Forgive me for asking what has probably been asked before, I've done some searching and couldn't find anything definitive (or found conflicting information)

I've currently got an order that my dealer has re-submitted to ford for a 2022. Ford's website is aware, but the status says "Ordering with dealer", which leads me to believe there is something odd going on with it. I have an order number, but never seen anything but "ordering with dealer". Is there something I need to change?

Also, I know there was some option where I could change dealers, but I assume that option is really only available at specific times in the ordering process. I've got a strange sneaking suspicion that the dealer i originally picked may be changing to more shady practices, or always were and was very convincing about the fact they weren't gonna be trying to markup the bronco.

I'm likely going to be driving at lest 150-200mi to get to a reputable dealer, and just want to do what I can to know up front what I can expect to pay and not drive 150-200mi only to be surprised with a markup and get screwed out of my bronco order.

So is "ordering with dealer" even after they submit it to ford something to expect? And if i'm in this status, is it too late / too early to switch dealers? If I do switch, would that make my order automatically take longer?

It is most likely just a lag in Ford’s updating their system. I converted my August 2920 reservation to an order several days ago and it shows the same status as yours on the account site. Ford was or maybe still is having system issues when converting pre-existing orders and reservations over to MY 22 orders. Cold off the street orders have no problem being placed with the system.

Ordering with dealer is fine. As long as you have an order number you should be set For this stage.

are there specific times in the course of the order process where I can change my dealer?

Is it already too late?

I just called fords bronco support... they cant seem to find my order by order no, name, email address, etc.

I can log in and see my order number specified in reservation and preorder status.

I'm beginning to think my dealer is either super incompetent or doing something shady.

Once the dealer submits your order with a code 10-19, you should receive an email with an order summary (a summary, it wont list every detail... and not everyone always gets an email), and your Ford profile should change it from "Reservation" to "In-Store Order."

If your profile doesn't say that, you haven't received an email, and Ford CS can't see it... that all points to your dealer not having submitted it with an appropriate priority code yet.

Also, you should be able to change your dealer... search for those threads for the newly reopened (since October) transfer options.

Mine has never said anything but "ordering with dealer". Even after the 2021 preorder

“Once your dealer submits” is the key. I’m in the same boat. I went to my dealer to convert on 10/16. They gave me an order preview printout that we both signed with “no markup” clearly written. But I still don’t have an email from Ford and my account still shows that same “ordering with dealer” it always has. So my belief is that my dealer has taken mine and everyone else’s orders and put them into their system, but have not actually submitted them to Ford yet. My hope is that they are just wanting to do them all at once. My fear is that they are playing games with their 2022 allocations.

There also seems to be enough dealers out there that believe that if they leave these rollover orders as 99, Ford will magically change the priority when the time comes.

This is not how the process works, and people here have already had to educate their dealers to change their priority code to 10-19.

Agreed. At least my sales person is educated on the priority numbers, and mine currently sits at 19, however I can’t speak to the rest of the dealership.

I have a VIN and a build date of 11/15 and the ford site still shows ordering with dealer.

Yeah, the website has always said that for me, but my concern is the lack of the confirmation email. I’ve gotten every other communication from Ford, just not this confirmation.

The priority numbers are probably one of the most important things to check along with the build. If they don’t change your 99 you will be stuck in limbo until they change it.
