Thank you for all the great replies/info. The yellow optima is a direct replacement and my concern is that if/when I add a winch, the extra load would need more than the OEM battery. If this is not the case, then making a change now is not needed...
Winches draw so much power and can't see using one without the vehicle running. As long as you wire it up correctly the factory battery will work just fine...at least it does on mine.

thank you....I was unaware that the factory batteries were now enough for a winch. I have no idea if the everglades has the same battery....if it does, that's all we need to know...

Lol... interesting...I never thought for a seconds that a factory battery would NOT be enough. I can tell you I have not needed my winch yet, however I have tested it multiple times.

Started the Bronco, turned off the 30 minute idle, and went to town. It never seemed to care (never idled funny or freaked out).

+ side is wired to the larger spare stud on the positive post .

- side is grounded to the frame using the same ground bolt as the Negative cable (the key it to make sure you are down stream of that Voltage sensor box on the Negative Terminal).

Personally, I have mine wired through a Battery Isolator which I wired up to Aux #3.
