Why would anyone buy a convertible and never remove the top? That’s the main reason I bought mine. Majority of the time I’ve only got 1-3 sections off. I rarely remove the back one - only because it takes 2-3 people to do so. I remove the doors as much as I can. If I see a long dry period coming up. The doors are off until it rains

Most people would say you rarely remove the top. ... agreed it works just fine as kind of a T-top (removable panels). GREAT to have choices.

Because of the off-road attributes of the Bronco that aren't available on any fixed-roof vehicle. Your point would be valid if there were also a fixed-roof version of the Bronco available so we could pick one or the other.

At the start, what led me to the Bronco was the optional stick shift, a very rare bird these days in 4x4s. Only over time did I gradually fall in love with the vehicle before I bought one.

Let's face it - not everyone was attracted to the Bronco for the same reasons. Some people love the convertible aspect and others don't bother with it.

Plenty of 4x4 options with fixed roofs. Why on earth would anyone want to eliminate what makes the Bronco special?

Getting rid of the Bronco's removable top would be a travesty. Providing the option for a fixed top wouldn't be IMO. YMMV.

That said, I think I'll be very happy with the Armadillo top to be delivered shortly, which will replace my soft top. This is my first vehicle that can have an open roof. Definitely going to try out the removable panels!

I have to say that a 2dr hardtop with the sunrider on the front (i.e. short flip up soft top in place of the 2 front panels) has been a really nice in between option. It's loud at times, but the ability to flip up the top at a stop light along with not having to mess with flexible rear windows is really nice. Also allows me to have a half roof rack. You don't get this kind of flexibility and customization with a fixed top.

I had a 1979 XLT bronco and had the shell off all the time. I had 2 door hard top Wildtrak and had the top off a lot (pain by yourself), till I got caught in a AZ monsoon. Now I have a 4 door soft top Wildtrak and totally love how quickly the top can open and close. Now for insulation on long trips I have a 4" memory foam between my sunscreen and the soft-top that I can roll-up in a heart beat when I want to open the top. This system works amazing for sound, cold and AZ heat. So removable absolutely.

I take the targa off couple time a year, but honestly when my top will be ready to go, I’ll replace it with something like the Armadillo - hopefully for a one piece no removable panels. I drive the Miata for open air, and it’s so much better than the Bronco driving topless.
