Hi, never posted my own thread so let me know if this is in the wrong section or anything.
So I've had a basesquatch 7mt for about a year now and I've always been in the habit of pressing the start button once to wake up the vehicle (thinking it readys the fuel pump and all). Then I would clutch and start. Now the vehicle will only let me start if it is completely powered down and I press the clutch and start. Not sure if this came in an update or if something is off. Let me know if any of you guys have encounter this. Thanks.

That's weird. By design, it should still allow you to put the bronco in ACC mode without turning on the engine. Did it last night in fact.

That is odd, but I wouldn’t overthink it. I’ve been turning the key to ignition until I hear the fuel pump finish priming for decades. But with these new push button ignitions, I just don’t worry about it.

i’m pretty sure that most vehicles these days prime the fuel pump when the drivers door is opened. Not sure how that works when the doors are off the bronco, but considering the number of people I’ve known that never paused to let the fuel pump prime and never had an issue, I think it’s fine.

y'all don't start each trip by stomping on both pedals and hitting the go button and cranking it for 10 seconds to prime the oil system?

Mine, if the ACC is on and I go to start it - it will power back down the next time I hit the Start button, and ~then~ it will start on the third press.

So I try not to do what you are doing.

Not sure if it's supposed to be that way or not, especially since it does say "Press Clutch to Start" - which seems to imply it would indeed start on the next press if you have the clutch in - or if there are some conditions where it does start and some where it doesn't but they aren't very clear.

But yeah, the vehicle will start the fuel pumps and everything when you open the door (or unlock it from the fob/app). If you have the Lux version with the auto-unlocks, then it will do it when you just walk up close.
