I like many other have installed the twin arb in the engine bay. No drilling was ever needed and there is leftover wiring as arb ships it to be “compatible” with an air locker install. Sorry you’re having trouble with this dealer.

Maybe the Ford mechanics should watch YouTube videos so they can know how to put it together. Dealers charge an arm and a leg to be backyard mechanics. Yes there are some good mechanics at the dealer but those are hard to find.

Sorry about the rant, was looking for some advice.

I ordered an ARB Twin Onboard Air Compressor from the official Ford Accessories website and also prepaid for installation through Ford. The product page said it fits all 2021–2024 Broncos (no mention of 2-door vs 4-door).

https://www.ford.com/product/bronco...78942721?gmcid=marketplace-gs-cta-accessories

Ford shipped the part to a Ford dealer for installation. After starting the install and getting pretty far into it apparently, the dealer told me the part wasn’t compatible with my 2-door model and required extra labor and parts. They had already drilled into the frame and cut wiring harnesses, and told me the car is now apart and not operable. 12 hours of labor apparently so far (pre paid installation paid for 2)

It’s been almost 3 weeks and there the earliest possible chance it could even be done is in December now. They said they are working with ford and ford engineering to get it installed, and that they are asking for to cover the extra labor. They say they can’t put it back together without charging me additional labor beyond what I already paid Ford if ford doesn’t cover it. I never approved extra costs, and now my vehicle is stuck there, undriveable.

Not sure what to do at this point, either to keep waiting, pay the extra installation, or just demand my bronco back in whatever condition and hope they put it back together correctly.
That sucks but is not at all surprising. I don't have confidence in my local Ford dealer to change oil and filter properly so do it all myself. The incompetence in these dealer service departments is unfathomable. Hope Ford comes through for you, my only advice is to find a reputable independent shop.

If you don't get the dealer to resolve it quickly, with no additional cost to you, I would recommend hiring an attorney to handle future interactions and resolution. That should change their tone quickly.

As having just gone through a long multi-month ordeal i highly recommend you get all your paperwork together, make notes, if they text you any pictures or explanation write that down or print it and call ford corporate. 1-800-392-3673 . ask to open a case, get a case number emailed to you as well as write it down, demand they contact the dealer to find out what is going on and request a call back from them. You need to be persistent. I also researched the name of the owner/ceo of my local dealer and called and asked to speak to him directly. i actually got multiple calls back and when he was made aware of what happened he called the service department and raised hell with them. better to do it now and don't be like me and wait for months trying to speak with the service department. Hell i even called the local news. They love hearing about fraud against the little guy. Good luck, i hope your situation gets resolved. You might want to bring it to an independent master mechanic after to get it looked over after you get it back.

Best of luck. I went through a somewhat similar situation. I was having headlight issues. I took it in to the dealer and they said it was a problem with the install of aftermarket fog lights I had done. I was like "Um YOU guys installed them". He says "oh yah, by our records I see we did".

I think he gave me like $200 off an $800 or so labor bill for it. :cautious:

The difference is this though: I asked them to install an aftermarket thing and they did. Even if they screwed something up with it, it was still aftermarket (likely Chinese produced crap tbh). Lots of places won't even touch aftermarket stuff. So I just bit the bullet and paid it since I don't want to be the person who bitches about it and causes them to make a 'no aftermarket installs' in the future.
